Definitely worth a visit! Pay attention cause in case of high tide you wont be able to walk on the beach. They say during high season you have to enroll and book your visit

Absolutely worth a trip. Look at the tide table as you have to go there at low tide to be able to stroll around

This place is real Magical! 😍
Luckily the sun came up in the morning when we arrived there at 11 am,
so we witness how amazing the rock formations and feel it's beautiful sceneries.. it's free entrance but need to book a reservation in advance and make sure to check the weather so you can come in and check this magical beach view🥰 and be informed that there's also alot of people to be with you walking around🤗

Required to make a free reservation online and go on a sunny day, low tide. Walking on soft sandy beach and watching those magnificent arches, caves and cliffs…feel peaceful but unavoidable tourist crowds

Probably the best beach I’ve ever seen in my life. Amazing arcs (similar to old cathedrals and that’s why it is named after). Definitely a great place to see the sunset and sunrise. Enjoy the caves, natural rock formations and pools with sea water’s leftover. I recommend you to take river shoes and swim suit if you want to get wet!

We had some luck. Because in couple of days you need to pay for visit. But there were a lot of tourist. But it was such beautiful , I think this is one of the most prettiest beaches in Europe what I have seen so far. And for swim you can also ride couple of miles away, there are plenty of small beaches to enjoy it

Famous and really beautiful beach with lots of caves to walk in during low tide. Lots of tourists reduce the magic of this place a bit but still a must-see whena you are around. Dont forget that a free reservation is needed during summertime.

Cute place, quite quiet to enjoy the beach, tunnels and arches.. also you can sunbathe on the beach.. better to visit in the morning as the tide comes in usually during the afternoon so not much beach left and you wouldn’t be able to get to the arches! Great place to take pictures, jump quite strong large waves and enjoy the beautiful scenery 😎 Bar not far away from the beach 🤩😎

A beautiful place to visit but only in the low tide window. Busy enough in summer warrant early reservation planning, and because it’s required for entry. Pick a time slot based on tide tables. From one hour before low tide to one hour after us best. Go during the week if you can to avoid crowds. The water is cold so it’s not about swimming. Just walk quickly and explore all the caves and arches. Shorts are advised and watch the time. Just a breathtaking experience.

Amazing rock formations, haven't really seen anything like it anywhere!
To avoid the crowds, I HIGHLY suggest to come early if tides allow! I arrived at 8:20 and the parking was almost empty, and I didn't even have to show my admission for entry.

Absolutely amazing place. Well worth a visit. But be aware a reservation is necessary during July and August and perhaps at other times as well. It is a national monument, and high tide covers the beach. I would recommend getting there two hours before low tide in order to see it all.

Our last stop by the Cantabrian coast was at the beach of The Cathedrals. Even though the access is free, you have to check online if you need to book a visit and the schedule of the tide. Parking lot and bathrooms available in the area and also a restaurant. Unfortunately, we arrived very late, already at high tide, and we could not walk by the sand to enjoy the natural monument with the supernatural dimensions and unusual perspectives of arches within other arches but we did enjoy our walk through all the paths around the area and admire the panoramic views. We will arrive for sure at low tide next time to enjoy such beautiful views & sceneries!

This is an incredible beach with many strange shape rocks which form a big hall like a cathedral. It is a must-go-attraction, but reservation is also a must. If you want to enter the beach, please ensure to make the reservation in advance ( better one week before). We didn’t do so, therefore we had to take photos outside the main parts of the attraction. What a pity, but it is another excuse to let us come back again.

Spectacular beach, you have to get a permit to visit it in the summer months, the toilets cost 1 euro

Locates on the Cantabric coast in the province of Lugo (Galicia), and lies about ten kilometres to the west of the town of Ribadeo on the northwest coast of Spain, Praia das Catedrais (Beach of the Cathedrals) is the name given by the tourism industry to Praia de Augas Santas, meaning "Beach of the Holy Waters" in Galician. It is one of the most visited natural locations in Spain.

Beach of the Cathedrals is made up of cliffs and comprises a section of coastline halfway between the Ribadeo and Foz estuaries. The action of the water, wind, and weather have shaped an impressive series of caves and rock arches of up to 30 meters high, in addition to geological formations which, viewed all together, resemble the architectural elements of a cathedral.

During high tide, the beach appears small, the water fills the crevices and caves of Beach of the Cathedrals, emitting babbling and whistling sounds that further add to the magic of the place.

During low tide the size of its cliffs and sea caves is more apparent, ranging from small cracks on the rock to big caves whose roofs have collapsed due to the erosion of the waves. Particularly low tides create access to nearby beaches through the sand extension. As the coast stretch is almost horizontal, the water covers the beach again very quickly.

Praia das Catedrais has been declared a Natural Monument by the regional Ministry for the Environment of the Xunta de Galicia.

Worth a stop. However, check the tides otherwise you will not be able to see the natural cathedrals. Also during high season April till September, you need also to book access as the amount of people visiting the beach is limited.

Lost in the mesmerizing beauty of Cathedral Beach, Spain. Nature's masterpiece carved in stone. Check tide times before visit. Best when tide is low!

Fantastic stunning rock formation. Try and go during sunrise times (& when tide is reasonably low) for less crowds.
