Delicious local food and lovely environment, especially on a stormy evening!

For the last 4 years we have our summer holidays at L'Escala. We drive all the way from Switzerland. The first thing we do when we arrive to our destination is having lunch in 'El Gotim'; it has become a tradition. We have never been. I am not sure what do we wait with more yearing, for the whole year, our first bath on the sea or our lunch in 'El Gotim'. Great Catalan food!

Nice little old school restaurant in a traditional volta catalana setting. The restaurant was clean. Service was relatively fast and on point despite being busy at lunch time. We didn’t get the set menu but instead ordered few dishes to share as starters (parmentier with anchovies, shrimps, and shrimp carpaccio) and rice with scallops (3 people portion) as mains. Everything was absolutely delicious and all came in generous portions. We had to take some rice home as we were so full.

We went there for early Sunday lunch around 1.30pm and it was packed. Booking in advance is recommended.

Excellent food and service and good value for money!!!

I have been visiting Spain for almost 10 years and living here for a year and a half and this is one of the most delicious dinners I have had. The atmosphere is warm, the service is excellent and the food divine. Oh and you must try the Ratafia a Catalan specialty.

Amazing food and even better service. We had the veal carpaccio, the escalivada with anchovies from L’Escala, and their fideuá with ali-oli. Everything was delicious and the waitress couldn’t be nicer. A+

Lovely Catalan restaurant in the backstreets of the old town in L’Escala. Huge plate of Langostinas as a starter, delicious Catalan style paella to share and a great bottle of Ribera del Duero all for about €50

Avui hem estat per primera vegada al Gotim i ens ha agradat molt. Bon menjar, bon servei, preu correcte...res negatiu a dir, ho recomano molt, repetirem segur

Restaurante con un ambiente muy íntimo, tiene un comedor pequeño pero bien aprovechado, el personal muy atento y educado. Los platos deliciosos y de calidad. Tiene una buena carta además de platos del día. Seguro que volveremos.

Le cadre est magnifique, le personnel est sympathique et on y mange super bien, tout est très très bon.
Cannelloni de morue provençale suivi de riz aux Saint-Jacques, meilleur qu'une paëlla, c'était excellent.
Le vin d'un excellent rapport qualité prix.

El Gotim és un dels restaurants de referència dels escalencs i escalenques i on és més que recomanable reservar taula encara que sigui per 1.... Jo vaig tenir sort, doncs no vaig reservar i si vaig dinar... I bé, molt bé.

Tenen un menú equilibrat i força econòmic que atrau, però em decanto per la carta.

1⃣ El carpaccio de vedella de tota la vida que feia temps no tastava. És un primer que funciona sempre i es gaudeix bé.

2⃣ Una espatlla de xai més que exquisida i perfectament ben executada... Melosa com poques, saborosíssima. Senzillament excel·lent.

3⃣ La crema catalana casolana per arrodonir un àpat de luxe.

Una copa de Món Perdut, D.O Empordà que també omple, vi de la terra.

Gran descobriment en un entorn casolà, ambient casolà, menjador casolà amb arc de volta empordanesa... Rústic, com a casa. Fantàstic servei i atenció. De 10.

Expérience incroyable ! A des prix plus que raisonnables au vu de la qualité de ce que nous avons mangé !
En entrée nous avons partagé un Parmentier de morue ainsi qu’un cannelloni, excellents, rarement goûté aussi bon et très copieux !
En plat, nous avons choisi une assiette à base de morue, l’un accompagnée de sa sauce catalane, l’autre accompagnée d’une sauce champignon asiatique, des saveurs incroyables !
Le sommelier nous a également conseillé un très bon vin rouge qui s’accordait à merveille avec les plats,
Les desserts, la crème catalane était succulente,
Je recommande 1000 fois ce restaurant
