Posada La Casa del Organista

I was cycling in Northern Spain with 4 others, where we stayed in 7 different hotels. We all agreed that this was by far the best of them all. The rooms were beautifully set out and spotlessly clean. Having breakfast outside on the rear terrace was probably the highlight of our week. Rafa was very polite, helpful and considerate. Loved it.

Incredible. A magical inn in a magical village. A true gem. Beautifully restored, immaculate in every detail. But beyond the magic of the inn and the village is the incredible kindness of host/owner Raffi. What a true gentleman, a perfect host. We were made to feel like family from beginning to end. I would give a million stars in this review if I could. Not to be missed.

This is a beautiful hotel, lots of oak and chestnut , in a quiet location. The service is second to none. The breakfast was fresh, and delicious. I couldn’t fault it.

We spent 6 days here and it was lovely. Delicious breakfast, the staff are happy for quests to use the terrace at other times to bring our own picnics in. Best vermouth in town, Nicky was very helpful. Rafa was very kind, friendly, informative and made us very welcome. The rooms are beautiful, bedding and other features are lovely quality but the Inn is not pretentious. Wonderful building and views, eg extremely old entrance door. Very reasonably priced and staff happy to make lovely tea and coffee. Wonderful.

This place is really nice. Amazing fire the price. We wished we were staying longer. Beautiful old house of the organ player at the nearby cloister (thus the name). Room was very nice, with new, modern bathroom. You can drive to the front door, then park in a lot below the hotel, one street over. Rafael at reception was very nice, and told us a lot about the house and area.

Great accommodation, excellent Staff & service catered for my wife at breakfast being a coeliac ( gluten intolerant) definitely recommend.

amazing amazing amazing! i can’t recommend this inn enough if you’re needing to stay in cantabria or the surrounding area. it’s in a beautiful medieval town with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. but mainly, can’t help but praise the staff enough. rafael (owner/manager?) and nikki were working the front desk during my short stay here and they were more than accommodating for me and my friend’s needs. i wish i could’ve stayed a whole week to really explore the area but i’m grateful i got the chance to stay and see what i could. it has been my favorite lodging i’ve stayed in thus far during my europe trip. it had such a nice ambience with a cozy feel and it really didn’t even feel like a stuffy hotel at all, more like a family friend taking you in to host you. come here and experience beautiful santillana del mar! 💖

Perfect location in the town. The staff are super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely, nice clean room with indoor balcony (!). The beds were comfortable. Maybe the bathroom is a bit small. Our delicious breakfast was served on the terrace with a beautiful view on the monastery. Although we only stayed here one night, we enjoyed it. We recommend it without any hesitation.

The accommodations were amazing and the view out the back was magical. Also the best shower pressure I’ve had at any stay. Rafael was a wonderful host, he spoke several languages and English well. He gave such amazing direction on where to sightsee and hike. Highly recommended!!

One of the best accommodations I've been to so far!

It was my second time in Santillana, exactly 10 years ago I was there with my car for the first time and now, shortly before the start of the 2nd Corona wave in autumn 2020, for the second time for 3 weeks. And I am happy having discovered this wonderful and, above all, fantastic hotel this time!

In addition to the central location amidst the old town of the beautiful little historic town of Santillana del Mar, the typical Cantabrian, rustic furnishings of this historic building from the 17th century are very authentic (the original hotel entrance door with the original door lock alone is an attraction...) and the panoramic views on the town and the Colegiata church/monastery from the rooms with balconies are a first highlight.
A second is the staff: Rafa, the hotel manager, is extremely helpful in all fields and knows how to make your stay a whole lot better than it already is. He knows this region incredibly well, also the hidden corners, and has real insider tips ready for every destination. It couldn't be better... and every Grand Hotel would be delighted to have such a concierge. Thanks to him, I was able to discover excursion destinations to beautiful beaches and cliffs, exciting caves (there is much more than just Altamira !!!), fantastic high alpine mountain regions or picturesque authentic towns that would have otherwise remained unknown to me - and certainly also to the majority of tourists. The breakfast was excellent too! The hygiene in the house and room was really exemplary - not just in terms of Corona, but fundamentally. The cleaning ladies are really thorough and clean the room really well thanks to them again from here!
The hotel's parking lot is at the back below the house (which is situated a bit higher hill-upwards). You can get there by car from 2 sides - from outside the city via an asphalt field road or (from 2 directions) through the middle of the old town through sometimes a bit narrower medieval streets, where you can still get through at walking pace without any problems (I had a larger VW Tiguan car and always got by well).

In short: If you want to go on holiday in Northern Spain - come HERE. It will be very difficult to find something better!

It’s a super nice hotel in a super impressive little village . It’s not a luxury hotel of course but it would also not fit in this place . Very tidy hotel and very friendly people . Very good value for money .

Great location and staff , very friendly owner we found very helpful. Room was great and clean and just a lovely guest house with a nice bar and super porch for sitting in the evening. Highly recommend staying here. Brilliant altogether and a beautiful historic town.

One of the best places I've stayed in Spain. Historic house, charming and comfortable bedrooms, amazing views, great breakfast and incredible friendly staff. What else could you possibly ask for.

This place is a full YES! Nice staff, historical site, super clean room and bath, and cozy interior. Definately the right pick if you want to stay in this beautiful medieval town :)

Ideally situated in the centre of town. Very attractive old Spanish style building with lots of wooden beams etc. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good buffet breakfasts. Highly recommended.
