Restaurante Gran Duque

This is a very traditional family style restaurant with a small seating capacity of about 10 groups at a time.
It is highly recommended to make a table reservation if you want to dine here.
The waiter was very friendly and explained everything about the menu to us in detail.

We ordered the menu of the day, which consisted of a starter, a main course and dessert. They also offer complimentary bread and drinks if you order the menu of the day.
For starters we chose the Seafood Soup and Sailor's Risotto, and for mains we chose the Stewed Wild Boar Cheeks and Entrecôte. All of the dishes were delicious and full of flavor without being overly salty. The price was 28 EUR per person.

It is very rare to find a restaurant in a small town that offers this quality of food. It's a great way to innovate on tradition without losing interest in the dishes.

Amazing food and amazing service. A little pricier than the restaurants next door but the food was so good definitely worth the price. Set menu comes with 3 courses, wine and bread.
The seafood soup is mind blowing and the wile boar cheek is tender and delicious! Definitely something to visit again.

Rustic Spanish restaurant with exposed stone walls and tons of character. So good we ate here twice in one day. One of the best pulpos a feira I’ve ever had. Amazing zamburiñas, gambas, pato.

Amazing food! Menu del día only cost 19€ and it includes drink, starter, main course and dessert. I ordered sopa de pescado y entrecot. They are all delicious. Homemade quesada is good too. Definitely recommend to everyone

This is a place that I can add to one of my most memorable meals! It was delicious especially as I ordered food that I hadn't had before so I wasn't sure what to expect. For example the seafood stuffed aubergine. The taste was amazing, light delicate and flavoursome! Ricardo is a truly talented chef and Carmen the waitress was a great asset to the restaurant which in itself is also a charming place to eat. Thanks for a great.

Every time I’m in Santillana I go to this restaurant. The food is great and the staff is professional and friendly at the same time. The stoves are in a semi-open area so you can see the chef at work.
I advise you to call beforehand ‘cause usually they are all booked.

Menu of the day includes two courses (basically big enough to be two main courses), dessert and an entire bottle of wine. Not one of the cheaper options in the village but well worth it. Absolutely delicious! Service was great too and the waitress was very patient with my mediocre Spanish attempts - very smiley and happy to help. She was running the entire restaurant alone and doing it well!

Wow! What a fantastic restaurant with incredible tasty dishes, amazing service and vibe. What surprise me it was only one fantastic waitress and only one chef but they are so professional and friendly. Food was so delicious I would give this restaurant 10 stars ⭐ for sure! A delicious and plentiful meal at incredibly good value. We enjoyed the set menu and it was exquisite. Rustic, but so flavoursome. Perhaps the most tasty piece of cod I've ever had. The restaurant is housed in a lovely building and the service was excellent. If you're dining in Santillana del Mar, this is the place to go!

Amazing experience. The food is amazing. Very very good quality-price.

We ordered the daily menu, which cost 25 euros and comes with 1 bottle of (decent) wine, a starter, main, dessert, and bread.
For starter we had anchovies and the aubergine (delicious!). For main, we had lamb and carrilleras (Amazing!), and for dessert we had two types of cheese.

The people running this place are amazing. Very friendly, nice people. Bear in mind, this is the only 2 people working in this restaurant. They do it without sweating, and very professionally. Delivering good quality product and service at very good price.

This is a rustic restaurant rubbed by.. 2 people. Say whaaaaaat? Yes, and they make sure that your dining experience is the best, with an smile. They have a fabulous menu for 25€ showcasing a great variety of local fish and meat.

Don’t you trust me? Come and prove me wrong.

Santillana del Mar Off the Beaten Path gem! The food is made to order, time to table delivery is very reasonable. The dishes were delicious! Zanburiñas, Risotto, Ox tail rolls, grilled steak and deserts were all amazing! We highly recommend this place for the food, service, cleanliness and ambiance.

Honestly up there with one of the best menu Del día in Spain, and served with a smile. Thank you, you made my birthday meal very special. The monkfish and tiger prawn lasagna was increíble.

Open kitchen, authentic cooking, great value for money. Interior decoration a bit dated, but still an excellent choice.

Fantastic 3 course meal including a bottle of wine for two for 25 euros. Excellent service. Should not be missed if you are in town.
