One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been to. Surrounded by Forrest and river and small waterfalls that are actually part of the hotel. The hotel pool is fed by the river and a small waterfall that falls into the pool. The hotel is a very peaceful and beautiful escape. The staff and service is wonderful. A true gem, UNIQUE.

Torre do Rio has some of the most spectacular grounds of any hotel or resort I've ever experienced. We ordered a bottle of white wine and just moved from one incredible location to another. The staff are amazingly responsive and quickly respond to any reasonable request. The food was the only area where improvement would be appreciated. A couple dishes were a bit overcooked, but eating out on the lawn makes up for a lot!

Torre do Rio is so lovely. The grounds are extensive, beautiful, and relaxing. The rooms are large and very comfortable. What truly makes this hotel special, is how wonderful the staff are. They are so friendly and accommodating. This hotel is such a a great spot for exploring Galcia, it's not too far from many sights, yet truly a relaxing spot to come back to at the end of the day.

Almost magical. Wonderful rooms, amazing grounds, delicious breakfast, great service, and all the modern amenities in a hotel that seems modeled after another era. It wasn’t an issue for us, but take note that it is not accessible for wheelchairs and such.

I stayed here while on the Camino and it was an unexpected lovely surprise. It is very good value with lush surroundings and a great pool.

The location and ambiance of this hotel is nothing short of idyllic. It feels like something out of a fairy tale. The staff are very nice and serviceable, making for a really unique experience.

Two things I would suggest keeping in mind, however, are that the laundry service is rather pricey and they did not advice us of the price in advance (per item). The other thing to note is the food, which is not bad, but which I found too expensive for what we got.

Fabulous hotel, it was the perfect respite from the Camino. The rooms are beautiful (no air conditioning), the grounds are beautiful (especially the waterfall that fills the natural swimming pool), the dinner was delicious, and the team were incredible.

I can’t wait to return.

This is a gem of a place, we thought that with its 3-star rating you would expect something medium to fair but the location turned out to be a slice of Heaven, the property itself is breathtaking! I really did not expect this hotel to be so quiet and serene. You will be as surprised as we were.

This is a wonderful country inn and the rooms are all beautiful. The linen is clean and they have the fluffiest towels!
And the pool is part of the river so it’s a refreshing swim in nature.

All you read is correct, this is a truly wonderful guest house. The river running through the grounds into the natural swimming pool is amazing a really wonderful treat. You may not want to swim but its ideal for bathing tired feet. We were met at the entrance my the manager which was very pleasant. The staff were a delight, nothing was to much trouble. A few small extra charges to be aware of, but worth it. When we entered our room which was picture perfect the smell coming from the cushions and linens was just a joy to the senses. Pure pleasure. Every corner of the property had something beautiful and interesting to look at. A lot of love and attention all around. My only criticism is, when leaving the owners were a little detached after such a lovely experience.

While walking the Camino de Santiago, I was blessed to have a night’s stay at this breathtaking establishment. The hotel is one of the best I’ve seen in my years of traveling.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very kind, helpful, and hospitable woman named Mila. She explained everything I needed to know about the hotel and showed me to my room. The interior of the hotel is rustic and chic. My room was heavenly and smelled of fresh flowers. There were modern amenities available (including USB ports). The attention to details was perfect!

The dinner and breakfast were delicious and fresh, and I even got to meet the chef. I appreciated the assistance in pairing my dinner with an exquisite local wine.

Aside from all of these wonderful things, the grounds of the hotel sustains beauty without comparison. It really is a must see! Definitely recommend!

Beautiful estate by the river. Wish we could stay another day and have some time to explore the grounds.
Stone walls a foot thick, and the room was nicely furnished.
Staff are most cheerful. Dinner was delicious, and the breakfast spread more than generous.
Well worth the detour from City center.

This is the greatest hotel in the world. I do not make this statement lightly. I have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels around the world and have never in my life comes across a place quite as magical as Torre Do Rio.

The grounds are immaculate, the hotels consists of an old water mill converted into a swimming pool with clean fresh water flowing directly through it. The hotels grounds are surrounded by a river and numerous waterfalls which can be heard from the rooms. The grounds themselves are kept in pristine condition with plants, trees and rock formations of all sorts creating a sense of paradise. The staff are wonderful, attentive and caring, with a fantastic kitchen and great local knowledge. It really speaks for itself that the staff has not changed in many years. The hotel is incredibly clean, and the rooms are wonderful with stone walls in keeping with the old mill.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, it is absolutely mesmerising. You will literally feel guilty stepping out to discover the rest of Galicia!

An old mill developed into a excellent hotel. We have had opportunity to stay in similar accommodation near the Camino del Santiago. This was a treat! Beautiful property in isolated area near Caldas de Reis. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The renovated old 19th Century textile mill has been done extremely well and the hotel, the grounds and the rooms are beautiful. We enjoyed our favorite beverages on 1 of many patios surrounding the grounds and listened to the waterfalls from the pool and stream. The staff were very friendly and happy to help and were available any time. An amenity I enjoyed was their friendly dog who was very cute. Stop and say hi to Archie. This is not your Holiday Inn kind of place so kids may not appreciate the luxury of the beds and hotel but there are lots of room to play and the pool. The food and baked goods were great also. 5 Stars for our stay.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while walking the Camino. This place is like a dream... The rooms are beautiful, the entire building and area is amazing. It is not a budget accommodation but it is definitely worth a stay. I recommend dinner on site - it is very good and at a reasonable price as well. Be sure that you speak with someone ahead of time to place your dinner order.

The staff are all very helpful and friendly.

This hotel soothes the soul. Stunning location & stunning property. I travel quite a bit and stay in many different hotels, I can not fault anything about Torre do Rio, it is definitely up there on my favourite hotels list. The lady who runs everything is amazing, super friendly and superb at her job. The dinner and wine were delicious and my room which is on the top floor overlooks the river and garden, fab. I highly highly recommend. My best decision while being on the camino de Santiago.

Absolute delight, yes it’s solid stone and no lift, but what a beautiful setting. The river cascades into the pool. Don’t walk up the hill from town. Get a taxi if your on the Camino
