Albergue Buen Camino in San Esteban de Pravia

Amazing place thanks to Guen & Benjamin.
I received a place 5 days before coming as a pilgrim on Camino de Santiago and they waited for me till the late evening when I arrived.

The breakfast is an excellent start of the day.

This is one of the best albergues I have been on Camino. Most of all, the hosts are amazing, very friendly and willing to help you in all the way they can. The hostel and accompanied bar is decorated beautifully which gives it a unique ambience. The dinner was cherry on top, perfectly cooked, healthy and unique dishes. Breakfast was also amazing.

I only heard about it by chance - I got chatting to a local who told me this was a newer one and so wasn't in my guidebook yet. Gwen and Benjamin were fantastic hosts - I got a welcome drink on the house which was perfect after a long day of cycling. The hostel is very clean and modern, and has a lovely communal area for eating & drinking. I met great people and even stayed an extra night to have a rest day and explore the area. You can walk along the cost to the beautiful village of Cudillero.

One of the best hostels on the Camino del Norte. Dinner is highly recommended. Very pleasant hosts. Nice place.

This was a beautiful hostel, the building was very old but really well preserved! The host's where really kind and overall I've had an amzing experience!

Benjamin and Wen are super hosts. The albergue is clean, comfortable and harmonic. Wen makes the best breakfast! I really recomend this albergue.

The best albergues during my whole Camino! I really love the time here. That has many reasons

.... The couple who owns this albergue really is in love with each other! That is a very rare thing. It made me very emotional because I've seen such a love not for a long, long time (yes there are couples out there; but mostly they are friends, enemy's or in their first Disneyland month)
.... They love what they do and reveal it through a lot of little signs: They invite you to put down your backpack, handle you drinks and chips (without wanting money!), they make a birthday cake and decorate when a pilgrim has birthday (thankyou Hanna), they cook the pilgrim menu on a high quality level with a lot of details that I never saw on my Camino
.... The interior is just beautiful and also is made with love
.... And the basics are all there: Clean, a lot of space, you can arrive at any time you want to etc.
.... Online reservation (a really good thing in summer because then you don't need to participate in the pilgrim race for places)
.... Great location (little, not too overcrowded town), beach in the north and a hiking path where you are far away from the pilgrim crowd and can enjoy the sea
.... Hanna ;) - who is not just a nice person but also adds German and English to the Spanish and French that the owners speak.

For most pilgrims Guemes was a highlight on the Camino del Norte. Because Ernesto has a Guru-like status for them. Here I've experienced real "Gurus" - or let's say people that live just what they do and thought me a lot through this....

비수기인 기간동안 운영해주셔서 운이 좋게도 순례길 중 하루밤 자고갈 수 있었습니다. 제가 도착했던 시간은 휴식시간이었으나 스페인어를 하지 못해 알아차리지 못했습니다.
그럼에도 불구하고 호스트께서 체크인 및 기타 사항들을 진행할 수 있도록 도와주셨습니다.

방의 컨디션은 사진과 같이 편안하고 좋아서 쉬는데 부족함이 없었고, 제공해주신 식사는 따뜻하고 기분좋은 느낌을 주었습니다. 이곳에 묵는다면 저녁과 아침식사를 옵션에서 추가하는걸 추천드립니다.

Un lugar acogedor, con una historia increíble, donde sus dueños de la manera más amable y sencilla te hacen sentir en casa y comparten sus tradiciones. Quede enamorada de sus platos pero sobre todo de lo unidos que son como familia.

La decoración maravillosa, el ambiente súper acogedor. Buena música, el café delicioso y la mujer muy amable.

Benja y Gwen regentan este albergue muy bonito y con amor por el detalle, junto con un bar/restaurante con muy buena comida. Ofrecen cena y desayuno para peregrino a muy buen precio, vale la pena. El pueblo es precioso, vale la pena desviarse para al día siguiente seguir la ruta de los miradores por la costa que luego vuelve a juntarse con el camino del norte oficial.

Experiencia fabulosa. Un albergue que marca la diferencia. Ellos son encantadores, serviciales, atentos y cuidan mucho al peregrino para que se convierta en una estancia perfecta. El mejor albergue que he estado en todo el Camino del Norte! La decoración del espacio es rústica y muy cálida, cuidado todo al detalle. Las habitaciones amplias con suficientes baños y duchas. Todo esta impoluto! Muy recomendable!! Agradecida por el trato. Muchas gracias Gwen y Benjamin.

Un sitio precioso y con clase para tomar algo. Vistas al río Nalón. Es una casa de piedra reformada con mucho gusto. Me gustó mucho la música de ambiente que tenían puesta. Tiene una terraza muy agradable para tomar algo fuera.

Un albergue muy comodo y agradable, esta muy bien cuidado y limpio. Gwen y Benjamin son muy agradables y acogedores, era mi primera vez haciendo el camino y se encargaron de aconsejarme e informarme de todo. Tiene bar y terraza precioso, super recomendado!

Nos acercamos a San Esteban y paramos en el Albergue a tomar algo en la terraza, mi marido ya había estado y le había gustado mucho.
Picoteamos una tabla de quesos, un salchichón francés, un paté de campaña y alguna cosa más y nos fuimos encantados.
Nos pareció un lujo, por la atención, por la amabilidad, por los productos, por las vistas...
Súper recomendable.
