El Horcajo is a beautiful simple and rustic hotel spotlessly clean. The lady on reception and the gentleman who looked after us in the restaurant were wonderful. The bedding was good quality, the room lovely and warm and dinner and breakfast were delicious. On arrival the lovely receptionist pointed out a great walk from the top of the carpark and the views, peace and tranquility were perfect. We loved sitting by the fire after dinner. We left feeling totally relaxed. We will definitely go back if in the area again.

Perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing and calm place in the middle of nature, where you can really switch of from the busy life, without noise and stress.
Food at the breakfast buffet was a bit limited, but everything of good quality.
Dinner was tasty and good quality.
The room was spacious, comfortable and clean, with a nice terrace to enjoy nature just outside of the room.
Ideal location for active travelers who like hiking and spending time in nature.

It's only beautiful when you like a rural area. We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. The restaurant is outside, and you sit below a huge old tree. Very special and spectacular. A very lovely service a total reasonable prices. We definitely come again

Our group of 9p really enjoyed this well-run rural hotel. Breakfast and dinner were included - and it was magical eating out under the big tree in the courtyard. Our room was large, 2single beds were comfy, and there was a fridge (only one we had). The pool was a bonus - nothing like sipping on a gin and tonic after a swim, and watching the sun sink behind a mountain… we didn’t want to leave.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. They have a pool which is great. We liked that they had a restaurant on site for dinner and offered breakfast which was very convenient. Definitely somewhere we plan to return. Highly recommend!

We were in the middle of south Spain trip visiting major cities, on the way to Granada we decided to take a break from city life just to enjoy a bit of quietness and this was a perfect place. The room was amazing and dinner and the breakfast was very high level. This place is highly reccomend.

Very nice hotel with very private location. Very good service, dinner and dinner location. Especially the salads are recommended. Everything is spacious and well maintained. We used this location to go biking in the neighbourhood with our electric bikes and see some marvellous white villages. We like these people that very friendly and helpfull and are doing their best to give us a perfect stay. Thank you very much. Much gracias.

Really nice place in beautiful nature. The employees were polite and the food is good (both breakfest and dinner). The rooms are big and clean (cleaning service.every day). The heater worked well (we stayed there in february and it was cold). Easy to find and good parking. They even let us check 2.different rooms and choose which one we want since we have a little baby. That was very nice :)

We stayed here two nights in late April. The green pastures and wildflowers are beautiful in the spring. We loved the surrounding s and hiked up higher into the hills directly from the hotel. Highly recommended.

Very nice place to be in very quiet surroundings. A marvelous restaurant to eat outside in the garden under the tree. Nice swimming pool in the garden. The staff is very thoughtful and helpful. It's a good place to come as a couple and also as a family. Highly appreciate and recommended.

This place is oerfect for a quiet retreat. Miles into the Natural Park and 25 mins from Ronda. Rustic, basic country fayre served from the restaurant, standard breakfast. Great base for Seville, Cordoba and Grenada. Careful on the hairpins especially when leaving!

We stayed here in June 2009. We had previously stayed in Barcelona, Valencia and Cordoba and were looking for something quite and secluded as a break before heading to Granada. Locating El Horcajo was interesting because my GPS wanted to send us to the El Horcajo in New Mexico, USA. However, the directions provided by the hotel were accurate.

We loved the hotel and loved the area. To us El Horcajo looked like an old farm house, full of charm and character. There were chickens and pigs in the yard which I suspect provided at least some of our meals. Breakfasts were excellent in quality, variety and quantity. The continental breakfasts we had in Spain are a world apart from those we get in north america. Every evening we chose to have whatever was offered that day on a fixed menu. Often we had no idea what was coming but enjoyed every meal

The toilet did not flush reliably, but this was 4 years ago and it may very well be fixed by now, but it did not worry us. It added to the rustic out of the way charm of the place. Everything else was perfectly fine. We did not use the pool. The weather was very hot but the thick walls of our room kept it a comfortable temperature. There was no air con or wifi at that time and I hope it has stayed that way.

Some staff members spoke very little english but it was never a problem. The were unfailingly helpful and friendly. I hate the obsequiousness and phoney chat that passes for customer service in north america. All I want is pleasant, polite, genuine and professional and this was the case here.

Lots of day trips in the area to the white towns and villages and also into Ronda. It was fascinating to see the cork oak trees and relaxing to be out of a major city.So all in all we had a wonderful time here and heartily recommend El Horcajo.

I have never been in a place where I could relax as good as here. The quietness of the valley works like a miracle.
