Mariposario de Nijar

In high season you may need to book for a tour in a language that isn't Spanish. They speak excellent English. The tour was very informative and they were very accomodating. It has toilets and you get lemonade and colouring for the kids at the end. Lots of lovely active butterflies from a spectrum of countries and it changes each time you visit.

Very nice experience, beautiful butterflies, very informative couple, we didn’t pre book the English speaking tour, but they accommodated us anyway, good test for your photographic skills, topped of with a lemonade.

It's a beautiful butterfly sanctuary/park, small but friendly and interesting guide. Not bad prices and worth a visit.

Very cosy and an excellent, exceptional explanation of the lovely lady. They have a lot of different species.

A wonderful place, really worth visiting, with a very informative guided tour and incredible butterflies that fly by just in front of you. It might be a little hard to find because there is no clear sign by the road but you can find it with google maps. Look for a gate a few metres off the road with flags with butterlies on them. Due to the temperatures, the opening times may vary depending on the month, so make sure to check beforehand.

We really enjoyed our visit to Mariposario today. Was a very hot day but the conditions inside made it feel cooler. We had a little tour which was very informative, in English. Got some lovely photos

Lovely special place to discover and find about the life cycle of butterflies. At least 10 different species that fly around you. You can observe the eggs, caterpillars and cocoons. And the host are really lovely and explain for about 20 Min the story of the butterflies and how they live. Our children adored it! The shop has lovely butterfly souvenirs. Worth's a visit when scaping from heavy sun!

A lovely experience. The butterflies fly around you and settle on you. There was a very good explanation on the life cycle of butterflies in both English and Spanish. A must to visit.
