Perfect place for an excellent meal with a beautiful view of Casares. We made a lunch reservation online for 4 on the terrace and had no issues. The atmosphere was perfect, the servers were friendly and professional, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend enjoying a steak. We walked to the castle ruins on the opposite hilltop after our meal. It took us about 12 minutes to reach the ruins at a slow pace. Recommend you wear comfortable shoes for the walk. The town roads were steep at points.

Wonderful dining experience and will stunning views over one of the prettiest towns in all Andalucia! Best meals of our holiday. In fact, so delightful the first time, we booked a second lunch. The traditional yet innovative food is beyond delicious. The servers are lovely- informative and attentive. And the views!! Book a terrace seat in advance.

This is an "off the beaten path" restaurant, but definitely worth the trip here. This place has a beautiful view, so make sure you ask for a place near the edge of the terrace or facing the outside.
We were a little late for our reservation, but the staff was so accommodating and attentive. They quicky sat us and the service was very quick.
The food is delicious. I had aged pork chop, it was so juicy and tender. Great wine list.
It's definitely on the pricey side, nothing crazy, but it's really worth it.
Definitely a must go!

Everything we ordered was top quality especially the Iberian Pork Chop and the Lamb Chops.

Best restaurant in the world!

My partner and I discovered this amazing place 4 years ago when we saw they had an offer for 3 courses at lunchtime for $15! Well, the lunch was stunning and paired with the view and service, we were hooked! We returned last year for dinner and the whole experience was just incredible.

A year later, we went back last night. Laura our waitress was brilliant and knowledgeable. We were sat on the most beautiful table looking out to Casares and the mountains. The food was spectacular.

Miguel then recognised us from the year before and shook my partner's hand. What a lovely man!

We look forward to returning next year and will be bringing friends with us ☺ Thank you Sarmiento, just amazing.

My wife, son and his partner, recently joined me for a fabulous lunch at this utterly gorgeous restaurant. Firstly all staff were exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable, next the quality of the food was as good as anything I have ever tasted and yet this was matched by the extensive selection of beers and wines, skillfully matched by Alberto who is just a delight. The icing on the cake is the spectacular view of the hill top village of Casares. We all fell in love with this beautiful place and literally cannot wait to return. 10/10

We were there for the first time with 4 people on 23 December and were so impressed that we recommended SARMIENTO to our friends and neighbours. We were particularly pleased with the mollejas, sardinas ahimadas and the confit duck leg. We also liked the wine list. We will be back!

Amazing views! Coming back here every time i am in Estepona. Sushi are one of the best I have ever tried and cocktails are not bad. The staff is quite attentive too. Definitely visit if you have a chance!

Fantastic experience. Highly recommend the scallops (which they blowtorch in front of you) and the Iberian pork with sweet potato. Can’t stop thinking about it! Lovely staff too. Great setting overlooking Casares with heaters for the cooler late evening. I’d recommend booking early.

It's a beautifuly placed restaurant with magnificent view and great food. The only concern is time it takes to get to order. There is always some piece of bread to start with and a small piece of cheese on a cracker. Service is really nice, easy to communicate. Menu is in English and is qr code scanned. Music is nice and climatic, prices are not small but worth it.

Wow..wow totally unbelievable.. Saremiento resturant amazing location a pictures view, excellent friendly staff, the food is out of this world you need to try it to understand what excellent cuisine is all about. My compliments to Miguel and his team everything was exceptional. 10/10

Amazing restaurant with phenomenal views over the white wash village of Casares!

The meat/steak is absolutely fantastic and the staff are so knowledgeable and friendly.

The inside has a really quirky yet contemporary feel. The terrace is just stunning!

Restaurante Sarmiento is a hidden gem not only because of the exquisite cuisine but the location with views to the little town of Casares. When we arrive the staff were really attentive and always with the smile on the face. We sat on one of the tables outside with views. The food experience was amazing. We order meat “pringa” croquettes with mint infusion, king prawn “pil pil”, green salad, pork shoulder Tataki and aged fillet steak. Everything was superb. So if you are in the area, take the car and go!You won’t regret it!

What a special place, we are so glad we found Restaurante Sarmiento. The food is excellent, as is the service, views and atmosphere. The staff are professional and friendly and make make the whole experience wonderful. I highly recommend!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Sarmiento's. We were welcomed warmly and offered a table inside or out. It is always wise to book. The view over the pueblo was good and sitting out on the terrace was warm in the sun, sheltered from the wind. We ate scallops, squid fritters and croaker fish which were all delicious. Served with fresh crunchy seasonal veggies. They had specialities of T-bone and other very tasty looking cuts of meat displayed in a fridge inside the restaurant. We were in the mood for fish unfortunately. We also dipped the warm home baked brown bread in 2 different types of olive oil....delicious. We were given a very tasty little steak tartare vol au vent to try on the house. A nice touch ! We had a crisp, chilled bottle of Verdejo to accompany our fish. With 2 bottles of aqua con gas and a cup of coffee, the bill came to €85 for 2 of us, which was not unreasonable. Laura the friendly, well informed waitress looked after us extremely well. Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this restaurant if you are exploring the Casares/ Gaucin area inland from Estepona.

Amazing traditional Andalusian and Andalusian-inspired food, and the most understated, attentive service. A real pleasure to eat there - and of course the views are just spectacular!

The place is simply AMAZING. Delicious and high quality food and wine, professional and very friendly service, spectacular views of the village, cozy interior.. 100% recommendable!
