The depth and breadth of what Bertrand and Basia offer at Flores has had a profound impact on my life. I stumbled upon this place by happenstance, knowing nothing of sacred geometry—and emerged from a week-long retreat with a sense of expansion, harmony, curiosity, and hope that I could have never anticipated.

Over the course of the week, we stained paper and painted with pigment Basia extracted from the earth. We ate meals outside in a flowering courtyard, embarked on ancient site visits, and at night told stories around a fire beneath the stars—journeying back to a time when communities were held together by ritual.

The inn, with rooms available for all (you don’t have to be on retreat!), has been beautifully and lovingly restored. It captures the magic of Maragato architecture and history. Perhaps more than that, it's a place that embodies the very notion of "home." A place where people are welcomed in with warmth, care, and heart. How fortunate I feel to have been a guest, and to have experienced it for myself.

The most beautiful village in Spain. Bertrand and Basia are so loving, knowledgeable and welcoming. A perfect place to learn all about the Camino. The artwork is incredible.

I recently went to a retreat offered at Flores Del Camino. Alexander, the teacher, was a masterful teacher and the experience he created was one that was deep and meaningful. The accommodations at Flores del Camino are impeccable and the hosts, Basia and Bertran, are so loving and kind. I would highly recommend a retreat experience here.

Our visit to Flores del Camino in the spring of 2015 was a special time. The house itself is a historic building that the owners have transformed with great love and care into an embracing and intimate retreat center dedicated to the art of transformation. Literally. At the heart of this beautiful complex is an art studio and gallery that displays the creations of the artist owners, Basia Goodwin and Bertrand Gramkowski whose shared passion is the symbolic journey of the soul expressed through the ancient and traditional arts of sacred geometry, stained glass, ceramic, and other techniques that I, as an art ignoramus, do not have the vocabulary to express. However, as an archetypal psychotherapist, I viscerally felt the impact of their true dedication to the transformational journey of the soul. These two beautiful people have given all their gifts, talents and resources to create a space that nurtures the emergent inner voice of the individual psyche as it seeks to grow and change in an ever-tumultuous modern world.

Flores del Camino is intended to host workshops and retreats that foster connection with our inner dimensions and is set on the ancient pilgrimage path of the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. Incredibly skilled local craftsmen have labored to modernize the buildings while maintaining authentic connection with the original architectural traditions of Galician Spain. As the renovations were still ongoing when I visited, I had a chance to meet some of these men and was impressed with the spirit that infused how they worked. They shone from within! I was attending a days-long ceremonial service during my time with Basia and Bertrand. All the stages of our community ritual proceeded with love and care. The center was filled with happy guests who were served delicious food cooked by a visiting chef. The rooms are warm. The beds are soft. The facilities are clean and well organized. I love Flores del Camino and I look forward to returning for future workshops.
