We had a wonderful three night stay here during our trip around northern Spain. Rooms were simple yet comfortable and had everything we needed and the shower was excellent.
Views from the restaurant and bar were beautiful and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

It’s the dinner that sets this place apart from all the rest, €25 for a spectacular 4 course meal cooked by the owner’s son. It was simply the best piece of pork I have ever eaten!

A wonderful stop that I would recommend to everyone!

A wonderful stopover for 3 nights on our tour of Northern Spain. The location is fantastic, with amazing views over the hills and mountains of Picos de Europa. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly in this family run establishment. Dinners were spectacular and would put many 4 star hotels to shame. Rooms are simple, but very clean with great showers. We would love to come back and stay again.

This modest hotel was one of our favorite places we stayed during our trip through Spain. The views of the mountains are spectacular and the dinners are truly delicious. And the family running the hotel we very kind and helpful. We’re definitely coming back.

Simple stay, sophisticated flavours. Don't let the one-star rating fool you!
The room is simple but sufficient, and most importantly, it is clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The hotel is well located, for both mountain routes and short walks into town.
But what really steals the show is the dining experience. The dinner menu is both inventive and exquisite, no repeat menus! The breakfast and hiking lunch sandwiches are equally pleasing too.
Jim and Pilar's warmth and dedication to guests make this a hidden gem worth staying. Their staff are super attentive and helpful. Really grateful for the genuine hospitality.
Many thanks for everything!

This is a place for walkers, snow shores and people on bikes. The rooms are basic, but have all you need, with excellent showers and plentiful hot water. The food is cooked well and local, and tasty.

We are a group of 6 mature gentleman motorcyclists and have stayed at this hotel on two previous occasions.
The hotel is a great choice if your thinking of touring/riding through/around the Picos mountains.
The roads are fabulous for bikes and I'll guarantee you'll have a superb motorcycling holiday
The setting is superb and its around an 8-10 minute walk into the town where you'll find some great little bars and restaurants.
Your hosts are Jim and Pilar and they are fabulous. Breakfast is fabulous as are the evening meals and its well worthwhile pre booking an evening in the restaurant.
The bar looks out onto the gardens and the fantastic mountain range beyond and its the ideal spot to sit with a pre or post dinner drink (The beer is great and well kept)
The bedrooms are clean and tidy with comfortable beds (Twin Rooms and Doubles) and the unsuite facilities are pleasant.
Its that good we will back in the late spring/early summer of 2023 and will be staying for a minimum of 5 nights.
To sum up. Don't expect a flash chain hotel, however its far more than a 1 star hotel.
Book and you won't be disappointed.

I stayed for a week on an Exodus trip. The highlights were the restaurant quality food night after night and the wonderful staff who were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. I also liked how well organised everything was - that was refreshing for a small hotel. My double room was fairly small and rustic but the bed was comfy and the shower was always hot and powerful so no complaints on that front.

100% recommended. Super friendly owners and staff, fantastic food (also - or should I say especially - for vegetarians), great service. The rooms are small, but very clean and comfy. Perfect place for this part of the Picos, including the Ruta del Cares.

You could not wish for a more relaxed place to stay. Rooms are great, food is fantastic, the location is brilliant and the team who run the place are so friendly and helpful in a positive but not intrusive manner.
Just had another brilliant week there which was well worth the extra effort required by the covid restrictions on travel.

The hotel is small, but has a bar and a restaurant, where you can eat dinner or drink a bier or a glass of wine. They can also cook dishes not included in the menu, if you ask them to. Every day of the week there is a different menu for dinner. Wide range of things for breakfast. We had a room with a view to the mountains. When it was hot, we could open the window, sit on the bed and watch the mountains. The staff is very kind and helpful and they speak English. The only disadvantage is that the road from Arenas De Cabrales to the hotel is very, very narrow. If two cars meet there, one will have to go back or stop on a steep hill. Luckilly, the road has only 200 meters and we didn't meet with any cars there whole we stayed there for a week.

Very nice hotel, it was very cozy and rustic, we had an amazing view direct to the mountains. The staff was very nice and helpful all the time. Even that restaurant was good, very good quality food and very original dishes for a very good price!! It was really a nice stay

Great friendly hotel with really helpful staff. Great tips from the owners for mountain walks, places to visit and where to eat. We went for the walking and this is a great base, the owners know the area backwards and there insight into where to walk and when, made our visit very special.
