La Medina Hostal Albergue

I wasn’t stay in the hotel, just stop by for breakfast, the woman who works alone but still keep thing in orden and be nice all the time. Thank you, great scamble eggs and grill croissants.

Great place to stay, right off the Camino way. Service was excellent and the meal, drinks and home made dessert are the best we had in a while. Highly recommend it.

Definitely consider stopping here on the Camino. The food and service is fabulous. One of the best meals I had on the Camino!

Very good hostel. The host is really helpful and kind and speaks English. The Albergue is recently renovated and the beds are good and the bathrooms are very clean, big and just everything you need with very warm and good showers. They have a restaurant below with good tapas and also a good pilgrims menu for 11 euros. The garden in de back is a good place to rest, eat and drink wine after a long days walk.

Would definitely recommend the place. Though the village and the walk from Ponferrada do not seem promising at first (I even thought about walking an extra 5k to the next village) this is definitely a hidden gem.

David was great. Very nice young man. Dinner was good also, especially the sardines.

Greeted warmly, loved the huge bunks and windows in the rooms. And the dinner was so tasty!!! We were starving and appreciated being able to eat at 3pm, out back, out of the sun.

We are here staying overnight. We are pilgrims and therefore do not expect much but I have to say this albergue has a nice comfortable atmosphere, comfortable beds and good food although we just had dinner we haven’t had breakfast yet. I would say it’s also very clean bathrooms, sleeping area, restaurant and bar. If you are walking and looking to go a bit further on the Camino out of Ponferrada, It lies about six KM further west and makes a perfect stop.
We are paying €12 for the quad unit and it is a good value!

Great place! The beds were very comfortable, perhaps some of the best along the Camino (the upper bed was high enough not to keep hitting one's head against it). The staff were EXTREMELY helpful.

Very nice and clean aubergue. Staff super friendly, very nice restaurant (a la carte or pilgrim dinner) and nice garden. Super showers!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!!

Best Albergue so far. Really comfy beds, beautiful interior. Owner overall friendly and caring. Bathrooms far above average.10€ per Pilgrim.

Big portions of food so yummy!!! Beautiful garden to relax in and the rooms are cozy. 2 separate rooms full of beds and 3 private rooms
