Roman Theatre

Wonderful theatre to visit. Absolutely free

A fantastic place to view .
You are better off parking in town as you can't drive up to the castle. There is a little road train that will take you up to the castle. The Roman Theatre has been rebuilt incorporating the ancient amphitheatre.
The amphitheatre is part of the castle which is a huge complex of Jewish and Roman buildings, including ancient Jewish cemetery. The castle has been added to and expanded over the centuries and it is interesting to see different influences and uses from the past.
The castle is not suitable for pushchairs or very young children as it will take 3 to 4 hours to investigate all there is to offer.
The castle is very steep and uneven so good shoes are advisable.
There are no amenities, at the castle, so make sure you bring food and water. But there are a few lovely little resturants on the way down.
You wouldn't be disappointed with the place it is a great day out.
And there is no entrance fee.

This place is beautiful. It’s a mix of old and new. It was free to walk around. There were public bathrooms available. I was not able to see an event here. However I was able to walk around and check it out for free.

Stunning piece of history, well restored and great to visit. Informative and interesting. Make a point to stop and visit if you're passing Sagunto.

The old theater with classic atmosphere, you can stand on the middle and sing the song . Worth to vist and it’s free.

Very beautiful , surprising roman theatre, visiting here I feel like in ancient Rome.

Must see when you in town. Very nicely restaured and amazing acoustics. They regularly keep shows during the summer. You can not park close so I would advise to park close to plaza mayor and walk the rest of the distance. For those who feel brave you an continue the walk to the castle behind which to be honest is less recomandable.

This is a true spectacle tucked away in this historic hill. The acoustics of the Roman theater are impressive. Take a tour and explore the other parts of these ancient ruins. When you're done take in the picturesque town and narrow streets. You may want to park near the town center and take the short walk. The streets get narrower the higher you go up the hill. Even our local host was unnerved by the steep and narrow roads by car.

The Roman theatre is a must-do during your visit to Sagunto. Was empty of tourist during my visit so had the theatre to myself for pictures.
Wander up the historic tunnels to make your way to the upper seating area.

I'm a big fan of restoring old buildings, so I love what they've done here!
