Super friendly and welcoming host. Went there solo with bike and tent. Had a great dinner and breakfast the next morning. Can warmly recommend. If you're camping make sure you don't leave your shoes outside as there's a fox that likes to 'abduct' them.

It is a beautiful chalet like hotel. 16 rooms. Very clean and quaint. Family run by 3 generations. The son speaks fluent English.
They grow their own vegetable outside in the area along the river. The food is literally from Farm to Table and tastes delicious. They have their own solar panels to generate electricity hence zero environmental impact ! The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating.

Fantastic place with self-produced and self-grown food. Wonderful hostess that picked us up in town, made a three-coursed exellent dinner and made us feel like home. This place was the highlight of our journey.

I was just camping solo and was the only one on the campsite. I only speak English but I could make out the ladies behind bar talking about the rain. They took me to a sheltered area, by the sinks and gestured that I could pitch there. I'm very grateful to them as I'd been camping in rain for over a week and it was the first morning I woke with my tent and gear relatively dry.

I also had the food on the restaurant and it was awesome. The view over the vineyard to the river whilst eating was an unexpected surprise too.

I could not have been happier with this as a place to camp.

If I could give this place 1000 Stars I would. The best tranquility, the best hotel second to none, and probably the best food and the freshest best tinto wine I've ever had of any place I've ever been to without question. Whether you are a pilgrim walking the Camino or just passing through Portomarin, make sure to add this place to your itinerary because it is just a fabulous place with unbelievably kind hospitality.

Best customer service of all our hotel stays on the Camino. The family that owns the hotel was so accommodating for any request but especially during meals. They served unlimited homemade wine during dinner and included it as part of our meal. Dinner was homemade and very good. Room was basic but clean and spacious.

We were at the camp site with a tent. Beautiful location with view of the river and very good food. A wonderful and quiet place with fruit trees just a short walk from town.
20 eur for 2 people and a tent, and 15 fot a full menu. Value for money!
The first part of the road down from the town is steep, but it is only a few meters. On top of it all, the owners are kind and service minded.

My daughter and I stopped at this lovely place during our Camino second leg in June 2022. The staff were very friendly and the accommodation (2 log cabins) was also excellent. The food was good although my daughter is a vegan and the options were limited. They produce everything themselves including the wine which was excellent and very easy to drink. I can highly recommend staying here on your journey.

Easily one of the most serene hotel experiences I’ve had! The view was beautiful, the owner was super nice, the room was tidy and the dining hall was very ambient. Well worth the 5-10 minute walk out of the city to kick back after a long hike. Breakfast was lovely too :-) enjoy!

Two weeks ago I walked the Camino. One of my first accommodations was Casa Rural Santa Mariña, and it was a very pleasant experience. The room was nice, the surroundings were incredible, and the staff was very welcoming & helpful. Some of the staff spoke english quite well, and the rest spoke english as well as they could for my benefit (which was nice, as I don't speak spanish). I had the pilgrim dinner, and it was a very nice meal with great wine. The next morning, after a fine breakfast, one of the staff drove me back to the Camino-path, so I could continue my hike. I certainly would like to visit Casa Rural Santa Mariña again. Camino or not.

This place was booked for me as a part of my Camino trip. It’s beautiful. Absolutely idyllic. I would definitely return through choice. A family run business for generations. Set right next to the river to the river. Grazing for the Camino horses resting for an overnight stay. A restaurant that serves delicious, pure food with much grown in their own gardens adjacent to the river. Wines from their own vineyards. Lemons growing on trees. Warm hospitality - with all generations of Marios who couldn’t do more to make your stay more comfortable and just an absolute pleasure.

If you want to warm up, visit Casa Rural Santa Marina. They have the hottest guide on the Camino, and I'm talking about Mario number 2.

I suggest everyone do the kayaking. You will be able to see both Mario's if you do the kayaking.

After a long walk arriving in Portomarin gave us hope for rest however, this place is located a bit away from the route which isn't bad but you must take this into account. The great thing is that this also offers a break and to see the pilgrims on horseback was an added bonus. We got there and it was raining so enjoying the gardens was not much of an option. Still, to be there, breathing the morning dew by the river was quite a treat.

Great people, great room, great ambience in a beautiful and tranquil spot overlooking the river. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the owner's son (Mario) and his girlfriend (Maria) in English. They allowed me to leave whenever I wanted to the next day and offered a ride to the city where it'd be easier to start my Camino the next day. In addition, the breakfast provided was enormous – the owner (Mario) granted every seconds and refill request. They have a cute dog that adds to the experience as well. Lastly, I had forgotten my scarf in the room as I was leaving, and the owner graciously found the scarf AND also drove 15 minutes to meet me on the trail and return me my scarf. Best place I've stayed in during my 16-day Camino.
