Gumer - Restaurante Pontevedra

The thing that stroke us the most is that they open the kitchen at 6:30 pm and they speak English. This was the main reason why we went the first time… we ended up going four times. With my towel. Service is impeccable and they’re willing to recommend what’s best for you within the menu… also recommend the wine. Produce is top notch quality. Attention to detail surprised us. We will be back!

Gumer has been a very nice ending to our trip in Galicia. The service is very friendly and since we don't speak Spanish, we appreciated the staff's willingness to talk in English.
The food was great, we had the Tartar de atun rojo (very fresh tuna, I enjoyed the sauce but might be a bit too much for those who like their tartare simple), taco de langostinos (the best tacos we've had since we moved back to Europe) and Ensaladilla de atun rojo escabechado y huevo frito (flavorsome dish with nice acidity). They have a nice selection of wine, they also offer them by the glass although it is not stated on the menu. For the dessert we went with the tiramisu, it was lighter than a regular tiramisu which we appreciated since we were already quite full.
The price to quality ratio is amazing given the quality of the ingredients that they use. I'd recommend a reservation since it was a full house by the time we were leaving.

Had a lovely time at Gumer for a birthday dinner - great and attentive service, lovely recommendation of wines, and the food was both excellent and affordable (particularly the tuna tartare and razor clams). Highly recommended!

We loved the fusion twist on Galician cuisine at Gumer. The ambiance and service were fantastic. However, some dishes were a bit too salty for our taste, which could be improved for a healthier dining experience. Overall, still a great spot for unique flavors and ambiance.

Great restaurant! A magical place to enjoy a delicious food, mixing Galician top quality products and new world cuisine, brings some serious results. We loved the place, the wine list is flawless, the menu is well balanced as well.

I found this restaurant through Google maps. Brought my husband here bcs it was open before 800pm. What luck! My husband chose the pork wok, also the tuna. the server recommended my wine and the tomato dish pictured when I asked for vegetables. Excellent service. Everything was delicious and light.

The King prawn tacos are to die for at Gumer, the staff are super friendly and they have a very good wine selection.

Fantastic meal. We asked our server to select everything, a bottle of wine from the area and 3 courses. The food was delicious and the pacing was perfect. We had a dish of sushi grade tuna served raw with a subtle, asian-inspired sauce and a runny egg on top that was like butter, so silky. Then tempura sardines, and prawn tacos. All were a deliciously different approach to regional ingredients.

Lovely food, perfect when you want something a bit more modern but with Galician produce. Our waiter was very friendly and the place was buzzing even on a Sunday. Loved prawn tacos!

Had a fantastic experience at Gumer. The whole staff is absolutely brilliant, they make the experience special as they are very cheerful, friendly and very helpful. The food is exceptional as well - they put focus on seasonal ingredients and it is very seafood and fish oriented, which is expected as Pontevedra and the Rias Baixas are known to have one of the best seafood in whole Spain (and Europe). We also asked for a specific bottle of Albarinho and they had it, we could even choose to have the whole bottle or just by glass. We were absolutely satisfied dining here and will definitely come back as I consider it so far THE BEST restaurant in Pontevedra both considering the food and the service.

Best tuna tartare I had outside of Japan. All staff members are friendly, english-speaking and take their time for each table. We enjoyed the best seafood during our stay in Galicia. And the wine recommendations were excellent.

Fantastic dishes with lots of flavours. One small dish after the other with matching wine. Excellent service. We'll be back if we come back to Pontevedra

We had a wonderful evening at Gumer restaurant this week. First, the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing. The decorations are contemporary and yet functional. Our waiter David was outstanding and he did a great job of guiding us through ordering food and drink. The food was incredible. First, we both had the shrimp tacos which was one of the best dishes we have ever had. Hard to describe how dish as seemingly simple as a shrimp taco can have so much complexity of taste, texture and presentation, but this is an outstanding dish. We also had the pork as a main and shared the cheesecake for desert. We highly recommend this restaurant and hope to one day return.

An excellent experience. Very welcoming and service oriented. Tapas like serving with table sharing. EXCELLENT and healthy meal - tomato salad, Tuna, and Pork in wok. Modern and clean atmosphere. Very reasonably priced wine by the glass. Very reasonable overall bill. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere.

Unique combination of traditional Galician dishes with an asian fusion take. The result is an unusual menu with some very unexpected flavor combinations. Relaxed atmosphere, moderate prices along with vegan options and we have a winner. Michelin take note, the food here is superb.

Everything is a surprise on your plate. The service is exquisite. Congratulation to the Chef and for the service crew👍🏻
