It was an interesting visit, so much history in the place. You go through the underground tunnels that connects the theatre and the circus. Those tunnels were once used by the romans in the 1st century. Amazing experience!

Definitely worthwhile visiting. Highlight of Tarragona for sure. Especially when visiting when dark gives it an extra feel.
There is a 15eur ticket you can buy to visit most of the local attractions of Tarragona including this one.
Part of the visit is above ground and a large part below ground which is the most mesmerizing and well maintained.
The door itself to walk in the site, is a dramatic announcement of what's to come

Great place to visit with the family. The ruins are a great view and harbor a large history with great variety.

When you go here you can choose to go to here with a single ticket or you can buy a ticket to visit 6 different sites.

I recommend to go with the ticket to visit different sites because of the beautiful route and site seeing along the way.

Great place to visit! We started at the amfitheater and visited a few more Roman monuments afterwards. We bought a ticket to visit them all, see picture. I couldn't find opening times online so made a picture if them as well.
The cirque is large and you can go inside and outside. On top of the tower you have a marvellous view on the city, the sea, the harbor and further. When you are walking down again you will recognize buildings you saw earlier from above.
For people who are not able to walk the stairs, there is an elevator.
Staff is very friendly, speak some English (which is very nice for non-speaking Spanish people)

It was a wonderfull day to see so many. The walk through Tarragona is great, and with 3 kids good to handle.
A break in the shadow or at a terrace is also nice. We recommend to visit a few monuments but this one is also nice to visit solo.

Amazing! You can feel history looking down on you here, and imagine what it was like when there were races in the ancient arena. 💯 Entry is € 3,30/adult and includes the museum as well, alternatively get a pass for four attractions for € 7,40/person. Well worth it, easy 5/5.

This is a must while in tarragona. Loved it all. What ruined it for us was school tours and the total lack of respect. Teachers/chaperones really need to watch their students. Perhaps staff located around the museum as well. We were pushed and shoved. Was horrible. The museum itself only has 1 female toilet qued for 20 mins. Ended up using the males. The museum is amazing though. What we saw. Beware many steps. Great view at the top.

Definitely worth a visit. One needs some imagination to “see” the Circus but it must have been huge. One wing was kept quite intact and the view from the tower (combined visit) is great. Recommended as part of the combi ticket.

Lovely landmark. Worth seeing. Audio guide for your own phone available in english. You can get an adult pass for €5 but I would recommend getting a pass for few landmarks including palaces and amphitheater for just €15. Discounts for families and students available.

Astonishing piece of Roman history. The outside gives little idea of what to expect once inside. Really, really interesting and well worth 10 euros.

I recommend to buy entrance here over the amfitheater. Inside is large, and the artifacts are well explained.

Tarragona is a beautiful Pelasgian city of southern Europe. You know this by the great megalithic stoned walls (30 ft thick) of the old city going deep underground. The Pelasgians are the oldest people known in southern Europe and the Mediterranean and the oldest civilization in the world. This historic archeological site with it's megalithic cyclopian stone block documentation, places the Pelasgians to at
at least 10,000 years BC. It was a culture filled with art, philosophy, and science besides farming and metal welding. Sadly they only tell you about its Roman past.

The Circle Roma is a part of a series of walls, buildings, ruins and tower. Learning how these structures have been utilized over the centuries is interesting. There is ongoing restoration. There is also signage in English. We did not take the audio tour; would probably have learned much more!

The underground tunnels were more extensive than I thought they'd be. This was a very interesting part of the museum.

A amazing place, the staff not so much and the installations could be way better (free bathrooms and no change room for bays!) But I would go again, specially because, as a teacher I didn't pay for it

Remains of very centrally situated Roman circus (hippodrome) complex.
Absolutely positive surprise, do not be fooled by the rather meagre visible ruins, site is extensive with huge mostly underground corridors and several floors up to the spectacular viewing platform on top of the medieval tower.
Good labels explaining the rather complex remains. Very good CGI videoshow displaying the original structure and history of the circus and adjacent buildings. Lot of stairs but elevator is available.
Combination ticket with other town centre Roman sites available (do not miss the amphitheatre below, although it has less to display than here). Underground parking few streets to north.

Surprisingly large underground complex with multiple information boards throughout.
Audio Guide QR codes didn't work when we tried them.
