Capileira

Very nice little village, great example of the urban nuclei and the traditional agriculture in the Alpujarra area.
Quite touristic and with good amount of shops and restaurants, though not crowded.
Nice views of the valley from its viewpoints.

So 3 villages in the Sierra Nevada and you will truly fall in love with this part of Andalusia. Capileira was the last one on our route and of course a walk through the magical streets. I wish there were more places like this along the way of life.

The flat roof houses are curious because it snows in this town, and this type of construction is traditional here. Visit the bakery where there is a wide variety of home made breads and cakes.

Worth the trip if one is in the area, as these "white towns" are different than other sites in southern Spain. Be prepared to walk up the steep paths to visit the various shops, though. Great for hikers, tougher on us older folks.

Surprisingly rewarding experience after longish drive uphill. Worth the visit.

This mountain village is lovely. Lots of restaurants, miradors to admire the mountains, shops, bakeries. Walk along the white houses. This is a good starting point to go to the mountain and explore Mulhacen. The Sierra Nevada bus is departing from Capileira, you can buy your tickets directly at the bus stop.

Quite interesting place to see, but not much to do. There are a lot of cafes and souvenir shops, even some hotels. But still, the only thing you can do there is observe amazing view.

Pampeneira, Bubion y Capileira are the villages of Poqueira. Recommend to visit and stay to taste the authentic mountain lifestyle

Nice place for hiking, treking, just stay.

Great village up the mountains with great views, food, bars and wonderful shopping. And a walk to the tree door is a must

Beautiful town in the mountains

This was actually my favourite of the three villages. Very relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful scenery and a lovely children's playground in the shade.

A place to fully get disconected

Great place to see and visit. Did this with a tour guide where he also took to us to other towns.

We visit Capileira every time we come to the Alpujarras. Great ambience and fantastic walking trails.
