Girona Cycling SL

Fantastic place with excellent riding. Just spent 5 days here. Spacious rooms in historic building with great family-style dinners and breakfasts. The hosts are warm, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Gareth gave me a custom fit on a very nice Ultegra Di2 equipped Swift Carbon Ultavox bike. Endless possibilities for riding on beautiful small country roads with almost no traffic. Rides are on Strava or can be guided. Lots of other activities nearby - hiking, lake, Medieval villages, Girona, coast, ruins, Dali museum. A very memorable vacation!

Just back from 2 weeks staying with gareth and Fiona at the Mas pelegri. Its a great place and perfect for either a family wanting a variety of outdoor activities in a beautiful area, or a keen cyclist or triathlete. The hotel is small and intimate with nice rooms in the main hotel. We stayed a the garden suites which have interconnecting rooms, ideal for a family. We were able to self cater a bit using the gas BBQ, but ate in a few times and had lovely food which was great value. There is a clean, well-maintained 25mg pool in the garden, but the hotel is only 10k from banyoles which has great open-water swimming. My daughter was able, via gareth, to swim with the local triathlon club and also ride out with them, which was great.
The cycling here is fantastic - there's a reason why 100 pros live in Girona. The roads are smooth and quiet. from the hotel it's easy to ride anything from 20-200k routes, taking in rolling farmland, the garrotxa national park and the Pyrenees. For the budding grimpeur there is the testing climb of Rocacorba and further north there are great loops to Beget and Campardon, or even to Valter 2000. You can self-guide using saved Strava routes (I'd recommend bringing a garmin edge or wahoo bolt or similar to do this) or gareth offers coached and guided cycling. Several pro cycling and triathlon teams have used mas Pelegri as a training base. We also hiked in the Pyrenean foothills, did a high rope course and kayaked. Horse riding is available very close by, and there is also canyoning. There are loads of trails for trail running and mountain-biking. If you're into technical, endure style MTbing, check out trailforks for routes above banyoles. These are steep and very techy. There are local bike shops and you can hire good quality carbon hardtails from Girona, but if you're into the steep stuff, you might want to bring your own bike. We hired road bikes for the 2 weeks. Gareth has Swift full carbon bikes with ultegra groupsets and he sets them up nicely.
Overall I'd say this is one of, if the not the best, holidays I've veer had, and I will be back with my family

Returned for the 5th time this year. Cycling knowledge, advice and passion - and a great place to come back to after a day enjoying the roads and climbs. Bikes are great and expertly futted. Will be back in 2020
