This was a very good experience. Cool, relaxed atmosphere. Very nice hosts and a great dinner. A lovely garden to hangout in. A room with only 6 beds is a luxury.

A very special place, a kind of a Noah‘s ark hostel. One is so well taken care of. There is a big garden and a big family tent one could also stay.
The donativo dinner is home cooked and such a good difference from the typical „batata frita“ heavy food.
Unfortunately (or luckily?) this gem is overlooked by many pilgrims, because it is not tied to the typical Camino day routes suggested in the guidebooks. I very highly recommend to make a day a little shorter or a little longer to stay there.

A lovely respite for pilgrims! Diogo was a perfect host, and he and his family have set up a very welcoming and efficient space. It feels smooth from arrival to departure. The house is beautiful and the outdoor space is perfect for tired pilgrims to stretch out and read or just lounge. Thank you!!

This was great Camino experience for me
as I first time in my life felt what the real albergo is. Diogo and Julia made everything so accurate, stylish and extremely clean. I felt like went back to 19 century times but with modern amenities. They both are owners and cook delicious dinner for piligrims. If I go Camino next time the same way I would love to stay there again and will recommend all my friends to stay there.
But you have to stick to their time table 🥰.

This is hands down the BEST albergue/hostel I've been in the Portuguese Camino. Super clean, comfortable, and it is right on the Camino so there is no need to detour. You will have everything you need and more - including a much needed complimentary breakfast. Not to mention Diogo's kindness, flexibility and passion for hospitality. Definitely will come back!

During my recent pilgrimage, I had the pleasure of staying at Albergue Quinta Estrada Romana, and it was truly one of the highlights of our journey. From the moment I arrived, Diogo, Julia, and their family made us feel at home, treating us like part of their own family. Their warmth and hospitality were evident in every interaction, creating an atmosphere of comfort and camaraderie.

The albergue itself is wonderfully maintained and spotlessly clean. After a long and challenging day of walking, particularly up the Labruja Hill, the Albergue Quinta Estrada Romana provided the perfect sanctuary. The communal dinner was a delightful experience, bringing together travelers from the different Caminos (Central and Coast) to share stories and laughter over delicious home-cooked meal. This communal aspect added a special touch, making the evening meals feel like family gatherings.

One of the standout features of the albergue is its amazing garden. It offered a serene and picturesque spot to relax and unwind after the day's exertions. Sitting in the garden, surrounded by the beauty of nature, was incredibly rejuvenating and allowed me to reflect on my journey in peace.

Overall, Albergue Quinta Estrada Romana exceeded all my expectations. Diogo, Julia, and their family have created a truly special place that goes beyond just providing a bed for the night. Their genuine care and attention to detail made our stay memorable, and I left feeling refreshed and ready to continue my pilgrimage. I highly recommend this albergue to anyone seeking a welcoming and relaxing place to stay on their journey to Santiago. Bom Camino!

I can not say enough good things about Quinta Estrada Romana. First of all its so charmingly remodeled, comfortable beds, pillows & blankets. There are plug-ins & reading lights by the beds, great showers & bathroom facilities. Washing machine available for a small fee and the location is right on the Camino. Best of all a delicious community dinner prepared by fabulous hosts, Julia & Diego. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Quinta Estrada Romana the night before I started my journey along the Camino de Santiago. It was absolutely fantastic! Diogo and his family have created such a special little place in the world and I am so glad I stayed there before setting off. I stayed in a private room so I could get a good night's sleep before my departure, it was lovely. I listened to the rain fall and it lulled me to sleep. I partook in the communal dinner offered on site and it was delicious. Everyone pitched in to get the table set, food and wine distributed. A lovely group of men (3 sons and their father) played and sang after dinner and conversation was lively. The next morning a simple breakfast was served with plenty of coffee. After breakfast I suited up, bid a buen Camino to any pilgrims left and set out on my way. The property is situated in a really idyllic part of the Camino and I immediately knew I would love this experience and all the challenges/rewards it had to offer. Thank Diogo for creating this special place. I hope to see you again sometime, maybe next year or the year after. Obrigada!

Great Albergue, perfect for a stay after starting in Ponte de Lima and climbing the Serra da Labruja.
The communal dinner is fantastic, and I highly recommend it! I made friends at that dinner who accompanied me to Santiago de Compostela and with whom I remain in contact, despite our different nationalities.
Julia and Diogo are excellent hosts! 5 stars!

Without hesitation top 3 of my albergues on my 3 camino journey. From the full frances, to the norte-primitivo and now porto this unique gem shines brighter than most.

The hosts are so kind they make you feel at home from The moment you step in the door. The old house is rebuilt to camino perfection and still holds the love for the past.

Of all the albergues i have been on they steal my heart and ao far is the best i have experienced on the whole porto.

If you want an amazing camino experience without the old worn down hotel from
The 70’s vibe and something unique with passion and soul and extra care for you as a pilgrim.

This is it.

This is the place to stay. Beautiful, cozy and with a real feel of the hospitality among peregrines.
They serve a community dinner that feels more like a family dinner. Tastes wonderful, wine is included and you can drop 10euros to help out with next day's shopping. (I dropped 15 🤫) Plan ahead to stay there or book early in the day cause it is normally full. BOM CAMINHO! 💫🌟
