Balneario de Panticosa

We stayed for six days in the hotel, family of three.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
Staff is extremely polite.
The best of the place is the spa, (termas de Tiberio) and the beautiful surroundings, a lot of trekking nearby.
We were lucky to enjoy the outdoors swimming pool while it snowed.
The best experience seems in late winter or early spring

The location is fantastic, the balneario need some maintenance, however is a really lovely place. If I have the chance, I would love to come back again

A unique design, located in a Valley filled with good flora and rivers that lead in to a lake and a great surrounding view of snowy mountains. The bartender is a very nice and social guy, the restaurant was actually quite good, and served a little bit of everything, though I was there off season it was still very fun to overstay, although it's much worth to visit in winter for skiing, even for double or even triple the price. There's a gym and swimming pools but it's only open in winter.
The place is cozy even in summer.

Amazing place!!! But:
I had arrived in the middle of January and entered directly into the history, the present and the future of this place. Winter sports are grazing - as there is no snow in France Pyrenees - its not here. It is a big blow to this place and the lake under the great Panticosa seems to dry out just like in all of Europe.
The story of global warming and its causes is inappropriate due to its consequences. Spain is not ready for it, like the rest of the world. It is precisely because it tries to ignore this frustrating fact so hard on one side and get the most money out of any natural beauty at second. This is evidenced by the local quarry and mine - we do not know what we are doing here and why we do not know it in a moment. We only see that was left without any saturation and rehabilitation. All the information about the spa I was goggle from the internet, translated from Spanish into English.
The intention of new era of spa was magnificent, it not only keeping this complex but develope. But... In the beginning, the investment came up with a number of project and construction errors. Maybe just in project - its to big space to heat it - par example. So the cold is everywhere. The resort - specifically Tiberius Spa and the hotel - needs investment and reconstruction. But even if it was gold, it would not replace the work of the staff. And it is from A to Z stumbling over reluctance and - I cant to say unprofessionalism, but - some combination of skills which make you permanently feel guilty. By chain of small samples:
As was sad - there was cold in the whole resort.People were sitting at the reception in the coats - me too. The waitress from the lobby bar was trying to revive the fire in the fireplace, but it did not work. And she herself was so cold, her cough sprawling across the hall. The man in the reception did not speak English, and even if he spoke, it did not help in the basic one-to make a confrontation.
I booked through Booking com - resort does not offer single stay. I was paying for two persons - no way to negotiate anything and anyhow. Compensation for extra food, for example, or extra admission to the spa or overnight - was not possible. I too. Still, I still had a feeling of inappropriateness - a woman still in Spain does not have a simple position both on the staff side and on the client side. Single woman really do not feel good on this place. It remains you what is rigide catolicism and “nation, family and faith”.
Breakfast - do not eat. All spa benefits are gone after a mass of denaturalized cheap law quality food. The chef is good, everything was beautifully prepared, but when the quality of raw materials is lacking, the miracle will not help. They do not know organic food (even we are in the spa), they do not know local production, they do not care about sustainable development and basically not even the client. They do not bother with the surrounding farms, they are as if they are tugging from the context of the place to some “luxury” that is supposed to be above the local living standards of the local population and that is always wrong. In the final tho poorest farmer “under the castle” has better breakfast then “rich aristocrat” from the resort.
It is a disease of the entire Spanish tourism industry and the enormous competition we know from the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, which is called the "food cost." I can say it - I know it from Czech - we have also great spa with tradition as Karlsbad, Mariennsbad... same problem.

Nice spot to be. Beautiful view on the mountains. Careful there are a lot of people around and parking might be tricky to find

It is a great place to stay abd ebjoy with your family or alone, because you can go mountain hiking and select a level wich correspond you, and then relax in the hotel.

I did not stay at the hotel, just walked around and admired the beauty of the surroundings.
