Restaurante Taberna Gaspar

Really great lunch here at Gaspar. Had the paella which is always super tasty and delicious. We also tried the anchovies with lemon.

The service here at Gaspar is always great. The waiters are super friendly super helpful and it’s always great to have a conversation with them.
Highly recommend gasper it’s one of the best places in Marbella to come and have lunch try to pay which is always on the menu and always really good .

They have seeking inside and outside on the terrace today was very hot so we sat inside with some air-conditioning .

If you want to eat here you must call for a reservation with week before you go. We saw that this taverna is full with local people and the menu it's only in Spanish. The food is good, the staff is kind.

This was the best meal of my life. The food, ambiance, and staff were incredible and extremely memorable. We have been talking about this meal our entire trip to Marbella and will continue to for a very long time. Anything you order could be considered the best dish at any restaurant and a favorite. You could travel to Marbella just for this meal.

Great evening at Gaspar last night. Sweet and helpful service and very tasty lamb couscous and very tender oxtails. Prices also very reasonable.

Wow. Great food. No idea how they do things but the food is excellent. Random but good service. Probably the best food you can get in this area. Large servings, share share share.

A fantastic service, I felt like they knew me for a long time. Also the food is really good, came here 2 times in a row.

Ticks all the boxes , service is excellent , quality and presentation of food is extremely good , the ambiance inside and out is buzzing
The aubergine pastel was so light and the flavours were perfect , the rice was cooked to perfection and the seasoning was spot on , the roasted chicken tastes as it should and served with thinly cut potatoes .
Dessert was a brownie as it should be , chewy and flavoursome, last but not least the apple crumble just melts in your mouth
Prices are good and it was noted this was the only full restaurant in the area at 3.40 pm on a Saturday

One of the best restaurants in Marbella. Must try’s are the tortilla de patata (only at night!!!!), rabo de toro and the albóndiga.

Oh and the dessert, last time we couldn’t decide so we ordered 4 and I can tell you hands down the brownie is incredible 🍨

I’ve been wanting to go here for a while and it didn’t disappoint.

That said, be prepared to what for a table. There’s not a lot of seating.

Portions are great, staff is super nice. I would def recommend

Great home style cooking in a lovely setting. We ordered (for two people) a half Mediterranean salad, grilled fish & the chicken. TOO much food

My favourite restaurant in Marbella! Hearty and home made, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The tortilla and avocado salad are unique and the entrecôte is the best steak I’ve ever had (it couldn’t wait for the photo). Make sure to book ahead as tables are in high demand!

The TL:DR is this:

On an unassuming side street off of the seafront, lies this absolute gem.

In off season you may be able to get a table without booking, but it's still unlikely on busy evenings so it's really best to book.

The menu is always changing, and written out for that particular day. You may be asked to take a picture if you want to spend a while looking and translating, as they would rather spend their time cooking and serving great food than writing out menus, which I think is fair enough!

The dishes are best shared - think of this more like "mega tapas" rather than ordering courses per person.

We had the tortilla (best we've eaten anywhere), moussaka (incredible), cod in spicy sauce (almost tagine-like with reduced fruity notes), oxtail (mmmm) and the baked cheesecake (off the scale).

So home made and delicious, it made us extremely happy, especially as we were dining on the last day of a great holiday.

To top it all, I'd consider it "cheap" compared to a lot of local restaurants, especially those that charge a premium for their name even if the food is rubbish.

If you like to eat great food, which we do, eat here. You won't be disappointed.

The only negative is that the dishes are so good I only snapped one pic (of the cod) due to being in food heaven.

The food at Gaspar is absolutely delicious.
My family and I have been coming here almost (on one occasion I didn't pre-book a table so missed out) every time we visit Marbella from the UK over an 8 year period. The children who are now young adults look forward to coming here. If as a tourist you are lucky to find Gaspar.....you will know why we come back every time. The standard and quality of the food, service and atmosphere has been outstanding every time we come.

The best restaurant in Marbella, very good quality food. Typical Mediterranean food. Exceptional service, the only girl who speaks English, the blonde reservationist was very helpful and friendly. We had no reservation but she arranged a table for us. On our last night in Marbella we discovered this great place. We are looking forward to repeat.

Taberna Gaspar is by far my favourite restaurant in Marbella and it's not because of the amazing deserts only. From very helpful staff to super delicious food, this place has it all. Also, there is a great collection of old toreador costumes and other sport equipment. Totally recommend it, don't miss out!
