The Old Great Square

A wonderful urban space that hosts city events, festivals, fairs and holiday events. Close to the river bank and sometimes continues the events that take place on the river bank.
The complex is surrounded by historical buildings and includes a lovely garden, small craft shops, a gallery, a cafe, a restaurant and more...
During fairs, sales stands, stages for performances, and play areas for children are opened there.

Great events and Turku society's shop

An Amazing experience especially if you are lucky enough to visit in the ends of June when the medieval market takes place! Beautiful buildings, lots to taste from sausages, pork meat, ethnic snacks and lots and lots more!

Be it the middle-ages market, Christmas peace declaration, etc - the Old Great Square is the right place to be. Right next to the old doom capitol church and the River Aura, a must visit place in Turku.

If there is nothing happening, step into one of the buildings for an art exhibit, or inside a courtyard for a cafe in the Book Cafe or a visit in to a craft shop.

Took my son here for a day of fun outside of the country of sweden. DISCUSTING. the feral dogs at my food and ran before i could catch them. Not to mention I can no longer find my son who ran off the second I let go of the leash.

Old square is an important place in turku city, historical, one of the fist houses of that kind here. Aleksandr І was staying there before Finland became a part of Russia

Represents a big cultural impact and heritage of the Finnish people..a true picture of history and facts

Excavation work is going on excavation of the old square. Farmer's market is a must visit for cheap and fresh produce. Definitely buy watermelons when available. Bring your own bag.

I love this location is super nice to take pictures and also to have good food because is surrounded by many good restaurants and bars, close to everything . One day we will live in there 💖

I enjoy going here for special events like the Christmas market; the stands are always full of charm and you never know what kind of products you end up going home with.

Cultural event fill the place with life

Home to the president's Christmas adress in December and the lovely Medieval Market in late June / early July.

There is a wonderful Christmas market with all kinds of sweets, knitted socks and decorations.

Beautiful location to walk around. I have heard that it's amazing to visit for the proclamation of Christmas peace on Christmas eve.

The old market square houses various markets throughout the year, such as the Medieval Market, Christmas Market and International Market, all of which are worth checking out at least.
