Based in the various reviews, I wasn’t expecting much. What a delightful surprise.

A good size restaurant, a short walk from the canal where we tied up our rental boat. Saturday night, so we made a reservation (not needed this early May evening), and were the first to arrive at 19.30. By the end of our evening, there were 10-12 tables seated of a total of 25-30. Good for a cool rainy evening.

There were 3 menus, EUR 18, 34 and 40. I chose the 18, and my wife took the 34. The amuse bouche was a lovely soup. I had the house hors d’oeuvres which turns out is self serve from two tables (~20 separate items) of yummy choices. My wife had oysters - 8 of them.

My main was a chicken in a basque style, and my wife had a large, well cooked magret de canard. Both very good, but it was too much for us, and we left some behind.

Dessert (included) was offered by two trolleys. Two. You could go there just for the dessert trolleys. We were offered two servings each, but I could only accept one (much to my wife’s chagrin, and I’m still hearing about it!).

And of course, they had a selection of Buzet wines, moderately priced, and ours was quite tasty.

Definitely recommended.

This place has been consistently great since we first happened upon it in May 2010. Had another amazing meal there today.

Fantastic long lunch. Busy so booking recommended. Don't fill up on bread as the desert trolley is amazing....and you can have it all!

I have had 2 lunches here while passing through the area and both times it has been a very pleasurable experience. Well worth visiting and I'll certainly go back next time I'm down that way.

We had two very high quality meals here. Dinner and then lunch. Classic French cuisine with all the trimmings and in the best possible way. Excellent, attentive service as well. A gem.

Excellent meal with good service. 3 courses plus soup for 16€ lunch time, very good price. Couldn't ask for more, certainty go again.

Brilliant little restaurant. Food fantastic and staff were great. Couldn't recommend it enough. Great value for the standard of food.

Just dropped in for a coffee and lemonade while taking a break on a bike ride Despite being lunchtime and obviously busy we were served immediately with pleasant service Will be back for a meal soon as gave heard great things about the place
