Château Val

As always, we received a warm welcome from Uwe and Irene for our second stay at Chateau Val. Located just a 15 minute drive from the ferry terminal it is a haven of peace from the hustle of downtown Cherbourg. If you wish to have the feeling of staying in a genuine French Chateau, look no further.
We enjoyed a home cooked breakfast before enjoying the garden which included a playground for the kids. It's hard to convey in words the feeling of peace in the garden. The birds are singing and the wind blows through the trees and there isn't a car or any city noise to be heard.
We will definitely be back again.

This authentic castle is in a quiet valley near to the village of Brix. The welcome is warm, the bed comfortable, so relax and enjoy your stay. Ideally located a short distance from Cherbourg, it's a great place to start or end your stay in France.

This was an absolute dream! We loved everything about our stay and the owners were lovely in every way. We have already referred friends to this chateau! I can’t wait to come back

We stayed here in early May 2022 as a family of 2 adults & 2 children in one of the 2 bed apartments. The current owners have only had for a year, but have really done so much in that time already. The place is amazing - our apartment was on the second floor and was accessed by going up a spiral staircase in a turret! The kids thought they were in a fairytale. Unfortunately the day we were to arrive, I injured myself and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment. My husband and kids checked in without me and upon hearing the bad news Irene produced some hot chocolate for the kids so that my husband had a few minutes to collect his thoughts. Such a simple thing which was so appreciated. The breakfast the following morning was fantastic - hearty, local and homemade. I couldn't recommend more highly and we hope to visit again next year when we are travelling in the area again.

We had a super nice holiday at château Val. It's a great place to relax, to have a good night sleep in a quiet surrounding. When you wake up there is a nice fresh breakfast with local products. The garden was great for playing with our dog, the area around this castle is perfect for walks with the dog as well. The hosts are super nice and hospitable as well.

Magical place! Still a lot of work to be done in the castel but thanks to the great hospitality of the owners Irene and Uwe we forgot about the imperfections. We wish them luck in their adventure and we hope to have another opportunity to visit them again😊
P. S. Very nice breakfast and options to stay with young kids (there is kids playground in the garden and baby cot bed available)! 👨‍👩‍👦

In the middle of nowhere and close to everything you’ll find a spot than can be described as “peace on earth”
The Cateau Le Val is a small, old and nice castle with skewed, creaking floors, old doors, super high ceilings, old furniture style and comfortable beds with lining that smells like a French summer. But the thing that makes this chateau worth a visit is the people who own and run it. Irene and Owe are fairly new owners of this chateau. But they have already got a good overview over the area and they give great advice on what to experience. They are very hospitable and we felt so welcomed at once. We will highly recommend to stay at this chateau for several days and use this as base for your Normandy holiday. Since this is a bed and breakfast we must also mention that the breakfast served is very good and a great start on the day.
This is an old building that will demand maintenance continuously to be preserved, we love when we see this work ongoing and wish Irene and Owe the best of luck to take care of this pice of history.
You’ll get great value for your money here and the good atmosphere comes with it.

The owner is really cool.
He makes everything easy.
I higly recommend this place if you love quite.

Magnificent atmosphere

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse première soirée de jeunes mariés au Château : un havre de sérénité dans un écrin de verdure et de vieilles pierres. Merci à nos hôtes, aussi charmants et attentionnés que discrets. Le dîner comme le petit-déjeuner était un régal. Ce bref séjour nous laissera un impérissable souvenir. Définitivement à recommander à tous les amoureux !

Le château Le Val est un très agréable lieu tenu par les très agréables Irène et Uwe.
L emplacement est idéal pour visiter le Cotentin et le petit déjeuner est copieux et excellent pour attaquer votre journée plein d énergie !
Nous espérons revenir bientôt.

Un petit coin de paradis géré par des hôtes fantastiques qui sont prêts à tout pour vous aider et rendre votre séjour inoubliable.
Les petits déjeuners changent chaque matin et sont très savoureux.
Il y a beaucoup à visiter autour, et le site est particulièrement paisible.
Que ce soit pour profiter du calme et se reposer ou bien de longues balades à vélo alentour, je recommande vivement Château le Val !

Nous avons réservé un séjour pour notre famille au Château le Val sur les recommandations d'amis. Nos avons passé un we merveilleux, reçus par un couple très disponible et d'une gentillesse rare. Accueil formidable, petit déjeuner soigné et délicieux. Nous vous recommandons vivement cette adresse qui nous a servis de base pour découvrir la région et les plages du débarquement.

Nous avons passé un super week-end en couple dans le château, le Val. L’endroit est magnifique, bien entretenue, propre et bien tenu.
C’est un formidable endroit pour passer un week-end en amoureux ou avec des amis. Il est idéalement situé à 30 minutes de n’importe quel endroit de la Hague ou du Val de Saire.
Le couple d’hôtes sont des gens généreux, sympathiques et très à l’écoute. Ils nous ont conseillé beaucoup d’attractions et de lieux à visiter qui se sont révélés, être de superbes découvertes. Ils se sont aussi très bien adapté à notre départ très matinal à 6h du matin.
Les petits déjeuners sont très bons et copieux.
Les chambres sont un peu froides et le parquet un peu bruyant. Pas de rideau pour vraiment bloquer la lumière. Mise à part ça c’était parfait.

Un moment au château le val hors du temps où la vieille pierre flirte avec une nature luxuriante. L'accueil chaleureux et bienveillant de nos hôtes nous a permis de suspendre le temps. Nous recommandons chaudement cette adresse tant sur le plan humain que sur le décors fantastique!!!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au château. Irène et Uwe sont charmants, le petit déjeuner est varié et copieux, l'appartement "Napoléon" était idéal pour notre famille de 4 personnes (dont 2 jeunes enfants). Le château est vraiment très bien situé pour rayonner dans la région. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !
