Royal Abbey of Epau

A beautiful old abbey where many interesting events take place. During Berengeria's time it was a church, but now people can visit the place anytime.

Very nice place to walk around and read about the history. Staff very helpful both in the shop and the cafe.

This is such an amazing but very tranquil place to visit. The simplicity of the architecture is breathtaking....you really should visit

This abbey can be attributed back to around 1190AD when Richard the Lionheart's wife ordered the construction of the Abbey.

The Abbey and the grounds they are on are well preserved and provide some insight into monastic life over the centuries. The audio guide provides further insights and information which is helpful to understand the building, the people and the roles each played in history.

Sadly the rooms were empty with few interactive elements leaving you feeling a little underwhelmed by such an amazing building.

The highlight was the cafe at the rear of the Abbey which provides a range of amazing meals which were incredibly well priced. We were treated with a little local treat which I won't ruin, but definitely worth it for 10 Euro.

I would recommend spending a few hours here around lunch time and be sure to enjoy a meal there, a highlight indeed!

It has a huge garden. A must see in autumn.

Je souhaite noter ce lieu 5 étoiles !
Je suis déjà venu pour un concert avec ma classe l’année dernière et c’était une superbe expérience avec APPOLO-5.
Ainsi je suis revenue avec des amis d’Angleterre, ils ont pu découvrir avec nous l’histoire de cette abbaye et son jardin.
Je trouve que c’est une visite à faire en famile, entre amis ou tout seul simplement!
Le jardin est intéressant, il y a d’ailleurs un poulailler.
Il y a d’ailleurs des toilettes et une boutique; qui est très sympathique !

Magnifique moment que ce concert hommage au groupe mythique ABBA.
Quatuor à cordes de grande qualité, instant d'émotion garanti. Bravo et Merci.

Nous avons visité les jardins de l abbaye a l occasion des illuminations de Noël !!
C est très beau et gratuit.

Un lieu magnifique à visiter absolument dans sa totalité (abbaye et jardin).
Il existe un lieu de restauration où l accueil est très sympathique et les plats/desserts aussi beaux que bons, non excellents.... bravo au chef!!!
Pour ne pas louper cette expérience gustative, il vous faut réserver votre table.

Un très beau bâtiment pour moi je suis content de ma visite et je peux vous dire que c'était très bien je suis pas déçu et si vous passez dans la région vous pouvez venir s'en problème avec des amis ou simplement seul ou voir avec des enfants en famille j'ai passé un après-midi très intéressant pour l'histoire de France on doit se rappeler que d'origine on est chrétien vous pouvez venir voir le travail pour faire l'abbaye Royal de l'Épau.

Candy light Superbe expérience, magique avec la lumière , 4 musiciens talentueux , durée environ 1h ce qui est très bien , penser à arriver tôt
