We had no expectations, having received some '3 star' reviews of this gallery. BUT the artworks are incredible, the staff are so helpful, friendly and informative. A room and its art were under restoration, but they have it open enough to allow visitors to peer in, see what is being done, and appreciate the works still on display. There is just enough in the exhibitions to satiate the mind without being overwhelming. The whole concept, from the building, outside displays to the interior is well worth a visit.

Great museum to enjoy art for those with a math or engineering bent. It isn't too big and us convenient to drive to.

One of the most impressive museums I‘ve ever seen. It was especially built to display the great art of Vasarely. I‘ve seen the Vaserly Museum in Budapest also, but this one is a whole new level. If you‘re into abstract art or op(tical) art and visit the Provence this is a must see.

An exceptional site for an exceptional artist. The collection reflects the artist's life and process. It's clean, quiet and spacious. The pieces of work are varied and impressive in real life. The architecture of the museum is fascinating too and meshes well with the artist's work.

Very cool foundation. Glad I stopped by. The size of the works and the rooms where they are displayed are quite impressive.

Vasarely presents large scale design perspective works, each of which is interesting but together in this brilliant spacing they create a surrealistic atmosphere. A very different experience.

I won't try to educate you about the importance of Vasarely's work. I will instead tell you that in the gift shop are some absolutely JAMMIN' scarves, posters and prints.
Museums like this don't exist in America. You should go see this one if you are near Aix.

A beautiful place full of really interesting artworks, 10/10 would visit again, a cute shop in the end of the visit allows you to take prints and goodies such as magnets, and next to the permanent Vasarely exposition you can see the temporary one with different artists too!

A fantastic place with working drawings and models up to monumental scale pieces. Loved to see the works are being carefully restored and reinstated.

This place is must go if you’re in Aix. My wife (the arty one in our household) dragged the rest of us along, and yes it was worth it!

The huge artworks downstairs are just amazing; we all loved it!

Unconditional recommendation in Aix-en-Provence- one should not be deterred by the negative comments. Alone the building from the outside is an event! And the exhibition inside shows huge large-scale objects by Vaserely. Wonderful color fireworks and a journey into the Op-Art-Art, which is not possible anywhere in the world. The staff is great! And also the shop is well sorted. absolute recommendation!

If you like art then this is the place for you. Good for a family visit. It is in renovation now so nothing to see outside, but the inside is really interesting.

Very interesting exhibit. Loved the large pieces in the hexagonal gallery and the sliding panel displays upstairs that showed how the works were made. For the kids, call ahead because when we showed up for the Friday kid art session at 2p we were told it was only for 3-6 yo, despite it being listed as 3-12.

The space is as impressive as the artist's work! Vasarely was a genius, ahead of his time.

I really loved the site, the history and the artwork in it. It's a bit sad not much more can be made of it all. I had a snack off a machine. Why not have perhaps a tent offering fresh coffee and some snacks outside the building? It's a very interesting site but greatly undervalued and underused
