We experienced 5 star service in this gorgeous, well-located hotel......I'd give it 6 stars if I could! The restaurant is beautiful, wine list excellent, and food delicious. We stayed for 4 nights at this charming hotel and enjoyed sitting by the pool and strolling the town. Lots of cute shops and restaurants......can't wait to return! The owners are lovely and very helpful.

So happy to have found this hotel. It’s a small chateau run by Isabelle and Michel who is the chef.
Isabelle is sooo helpful and enthusiastic and you can see their hotel is a labour of love. There is a gorgeous pool with lovely loungers.
The restaurant is like a Michelin star one. Breakfast is wonderful too.
Our room was at the back looking over the valley.
There are different walks to do and we were given waterproof maps. Warning, there had been a huge amount of rain so parts of the path was very very muddy.
The town of Monpazier is very quaint with a market and little boutique shops.
We will definitely be back.

Discovered this gem during my last trip through Dordogne area. Hotel completes the little town experience with it's cozy rooms and excellent kitchen. Food itself is worth a detour :)

One of the best hotels that we stayed in. Overall service was a 10 from arrival to departure. The staff were impeccable, gracious, helpful and spoke several languages.

As I was building the route for my roadtrip around the Dordogne, I accidentally came across this gem of a hotel and immediately decided to include Monpazier in my trip just so I can stay here. The little turreted fairy-tale French chateau fantasy building. The creaking floors and twisting staircases, massive floor-to-ceiling windows and those big old-style locks. Character and charm on every corner. A bit like being in one of those period dramas. Or maybe I'm exaggerating? Well, I guess you'll have to stay here yourself and find out eh?

Big thank you to Louise, who's been very friendly and helpful throughout and answered my many random questions and put up with my rather clumsy attempt at chat up.

Perfect. Beautiful hotel. Comfortable well appointed room with amazing views of the valley. Delicious food. But what made my week's stay here even better were Isabelle & Michel, who are the most delightful hosts. Thank you.

Stayed fifteen nights in this wonderful hotel. The food, service, accommodation and amenities were all first class and the hotel is in an excellent location. We found the Edward to be outstanding value for money in every respect and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting this area of France. The hotel is owned by a charming Dutch family who are excellent in every respect and obviously take great pride in everything they do. The hotel and restaurant are by far the best we have we have visited in the whole of the south west of France.

We have spent 7 nights in Hotel Edward Premier and it was an absolute delight. The hotel is small and cosy yet has everything to offer that a bigger hotel would. A large pool with a great, sunny terrace outside, a Spa and massage offerings, a fantastic restaurant Eleonore where you can enjoy lots of local products and a beautiful lobby where you can have a drink, play a game of chess or read a book perhaps. The hotel rooms are very clean, spacious and we had a fantastic bath. The bed was good and we slept all week like babies. Followed by a nice breakfast with lots of different options to chose from, even the homemade pie. Going up the stairs is like walking towards your room in a small castle! The staff is very nice and the owners do everything they can to offer you a very nice experience. It's a very personal experience having someone take good care of you, even warning you about limited availability of seats in the nearby restaurants. And then the hotel is really close to the Bastide of Monpazier: it takes you not even 5 minutes to walk to the Bastide where you can find the shops and the small alleys where you can pet the village cats (if they let you). All in all a fantastic experience and if I will not buy a small home there I will definitely spend all my nights in Hotel Edward 1er! Thank you Isabelle and Michel!

I had dinner here, a perfectly balanced menu with regional products. The atmosphere is beautifull, and the chateau is in the village of Monpazier. The service is great! People are very nice and they speak good Dutch and English. I would definitely come again!

Lovely attention to detail and fine food. However the owner Isabel and her team made the visit very special. They were so pleasant and welcoming. A credit to the hospitality industry.
