Le Trait d'Union

We went early on a quiet, slightly rainy night in June. The food is tapas-like choices of freshly prepared, locally sourced dishes. We had two each, all very fresh, healthy and delicious. Nice, friendly welcome and service and an eclectic and ambient interior.

Great food, great service (thank you Quentin) and excellent atmosphere. Without a doubt one of the most enjoyable meals we have had in our two weeks in France. The lamb dish was amazing as far as I am concerned. The selection of wines that Quentin chose on our behalf.. both very nice. Tops marks guys and thank you for the experience.. you made memories for us that we will take back to Australia. Good luck for the future.

Absolutely a perfect place to go:
-the welcome was super friendly, and all three waitresess/waiters where very observant and kind.
-wine and food very tastefull, and at that price, a true bargain.
-mood and setting... one word describes it perfectly: unpretensious. An atmosphere of joy, and lots of local people dropping in, greeting each other

The food are varieted, so something for everybody. Remember to order sidedishes for the meat courses. Still very well priced.

Although this restaurant came recommended, my wife and I arrived tired, hungry, and unsure what to expect from the unusual decor. At first unconvinced by the menu’s tapas-like offerings, it wasn’t until Quentin worked his magic on us (and after eating all that great food) that we came to see what a great place this is. Good value, nice vibe, excellent service.

What a charming eclectically furnished restaurant located in an old woodworking shop! If you are in the area, I highly recommend! We were greeted warmly by Quentin who luckily spoke English and guided us through the menu and the wine list, both were delicious! He is also an interesting conversationalist if you are so inclined. Perfect non traditional lovely French meal! There is a garden and terrace to enjoy if you are there during nice weather. We will definitely return here when we are back in the area!

This is definitely one of the best places to come with friends, a proper summer bar and restaurant, very nice food and cocktails at very affordable prices, amazing staff, service.

Really very very good! I've been living in this area for seven years and it's fantastic to see this new concept. A funky tapas/wine bar/restaurant with a great atmosphere, excellent food and really nice wines. Service was also top notch! I highly highly recommend!

Great setting, amazing vibe, very cozy. Small concerts with well chozen artists. Be sure to go!

Amazing place and people, good atmosphere and good food, relaxed serving people.

I think this eclectic outdoor restaurant with outdoor field seating with a Castle View was the perfect evening. Our server Rosalie, was excellent, food was made to share and all dishes were delicious. Check out the cute bathroom. Only a short 10 minutes from the town of Sarlat and was well worth the drive. Almost forgot to mention the delicious and memorable cheesecake.

Great local place with good food, drinks and nice staff. Both meat and vegetarian options.

Recommend: crosteu with fennel, beef tartar, and creme de articheauts.

We met (one of?) the owners when we arrived and he couldn’t have been more friendly. Excellent suggestions, lovely food and great wine. We missed the live music but I can imagine the atmosphere would have been incredible.

Gourmet-guinguette with casual, convivial atmosphere (live music on summer weekends), daily rotating menu with a VEGETARIAN choice for appetizer, main dish & dessert (a rarity in this region). Excellent wine/beer list with local offerings. Quentin & Alex are welcoming hosts as well as expert chef/sommelier. So fun & delicious!

We were 4, French-Polish group, and absolutely amazed by the place. Food was great (every tapas was great, only one was just ok). Carnivors and vegetarians were all happy, and I have to say, that in the region it is not easy to eat well for a vegetarian. How many salads you can eat? Here, you will have a rich choice! The staff is friendly and easy, but profesional. If you visit Chateau Castelnaud la Chapelle, forget regular restaurants around or in the bourg below. Le Trait d’union have a lot of place outside and inside, tables are not very close to each other, the ambiance is very easy, a good place to stay and chat and eat very tasty things, and it was a great end of the day. Our table had a view on the castle, with moon right above- scandalous ;)!

Nice menu of tapas / small plates. Delicious vegetarian options, great hospitality, and atmosphere. The wines are excellent too. Make sure you visit!

Outstanding casual, eclectic farmhouse barn atmosphere. Excellent food choices--not the typical tourist targeted fois gras, canard, etc. Very friendly staff provide great service and are very attentive. I can't wait to experience the live music on Fridays, and even Sundays during July and August.

Lovely place for a drink and food - very welcoming and helpful team, delicious tapas style food, nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
