Bar Restaurant Le Doris

Brilliant seafood restaurant. Very good value - but also very good quality food in an unpretentious but professional setting.

The restaurant is good but for me the main selling point is the great bar. It's nothing fancy but you will find a lot of locals all week round and the drinks aren't to expensive and during the summer, when the nights are long and warm, sitting in the bar and drinking a few beer is great

Simple and delicious!!! Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked! It has become a tradition in my family to have at least one dinner Le Doris, when we are in Brittany. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic seafood with the family for a great price. If you prefer a real see view you can ask for a table in the first floor, but the terrace is also very nice.

The "Le Doris", also known as "Chez Emma" is located on the harbour of Keriti, in the second flour. So, with a bit of luck, you'll find yourself beautifully suited with a view on the ships outside, watching the tides, as they come and go.

A nice old lady ("Emma"?), most likely the proprietor, acts as the head waitress. In most cases, she is taking the order, handling the bills, etc.

The restaurant seems to be in business for quite some time. Consequently, it is the most traditional of all the restaurants we've visited in Penmarch. For example, in the restaurants center you'll notice a big sea water basin with some 15 lobsters. If someone orders a lobster, you can watch the poor beast being taken out of the basin and brought to the table 20-30 minutes later. (Our daughter was close to tears when she watched catching a lobster, because she feared, it would be her favourite, or "the cutest") animal.

Of course, the menu includes a lot of assorted crustaceae: Prawns, Crayfish, Crabs, and Lobster, but also Sea Shells (Palourdes). I'd recommend, in particular, the Chevrez Chaude (baked goat cheese), and the Palourdes for starters. For the main course, I had veal in a red wine sauce, which I extremely liked. I'd also like to recommend the Mayonnaise, that comes with the crustaceae: It is most likely based on butter, rather than olive oil, and tasted extremely well. In general, everything that we had, was high quality food, and well prepared. Besides, the Le Doris is relatively inexpensive, with 22€ for a 3-course-menu (Entree, Plat, Desert), or 30€ for four courses (Entree Froide, Entree Chaude, or cold and warm starters, Main, and Dessert).

We would like to express our gratitude for a wonderful meal, and are looking forward to returning.

Bonne cuisine, produits frais, poissons, fruits de mer, moules, avec une superbe vue à l'étage.
Accueil sympa, service impeccable, une très bonne adresse à Penmarch.

Très belle surprise… accueil sympa. Carte à l’ardoise. Profitons du poisson du jour.

Cabillaud cuit parfaitement, juste nacré. Petite sauce hollandaise légère, des petits légumes al de te et un écrasé de PdT avec un point d’huile d’olive, parfait.

Tarte au citron maison, pâte excellente, crémeux citron pas trop sucré, une petite boule de sorbet citron vert pour relever l’acidité. Excellent.
Message à la patronne : faut arrêter la chantilly sur ce type de dessert, ça ne sert à rien, ça détourne l’attention et ça fait « pizzeria bas de gamme » restez donc dans ce que fait votre chef, rien de plus et c’est très bien.
Ah oui, un petit muscadet bien sympa pour un joli déjeuner…

Le service impeccable et des sourires sur tous les visages...La fille d'Emma a un oeil sur toutes les tables et veille à que tout ce passe merveilleusement bien, sans trop d'attente....à recommandé chaudement...

Un restaurant qui ne paie pas de mine a l'extérieur, mais des plats tellement délicieux!!! Même les enfants ont adorés le poisson blanc du menu enfant!!
Menu de base à 35€, qui paraît chère au 1er abord, mais tout est tellement bon, produit frais et dessert maison, que du bonheur!!
Et je ne parle pas du service, irréprochable!! Toujours a l'écoute, sans trop en faire...

Repas anniversaire totalement réussi. Avec un superbe homard en point d'orgue, un véritable délice. Excellent accueil, ambiance paisible et heureuse, service souriant et pro, sans oublier la superbe vue sur le port de Kérity. Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse.
