Le Sable Rouge

A warm cheesy oasis on a cold November day!

We stopped in Wimeruex on the way back to the tunnel, on a cold weekday lunch day time so this being a seaside summer town... options were limited but we were so thankful we stumbled upon Le Sable Rouge!

The staff were lovely and welcoming and although the menu is quite small, there was more than enough choice.

We went in for mussels but then saw a gentleman across the tables eating one of the Welsh dishses that they love in this area. Think Welsh Rarebit on steroids.

We ordered one with cheese and egg, one with the salmon, and a fish and chips.

The Welshes were awesome! Absolute cheese heaven. Melty tangy cheddar with bread, ham and egg with a side of chips.... what's not to love? Part cheese on toast, part croque madame, part fondue.

It's an cholesterol busting as you imagine, and it was brilliant. I'd order it again in a heartbeat.

We sat in the closed in decking looking out at the windsurfers, and it was just a lovely lunch that was warm and filling, with good coffee and good service.

What more could you ask for!

Delicious freshly prepared food served by extremely friendly staff. The views of Wimmereux beach are stunning. Great location.

We were seated quickly in out arrival and the waiter spoke English and was very helpful.

The food was good. I had the sea food casserole, which had generous amounts of fish and some other sea food.

Service was quick and competent. A lovely meal. 58 euro for 2 main course and a soft drink each.

Great views at the sea! Delicious lunch - Moules Creme, curry, marinieres tasted. All served with fries.

Very friendly service, nice terrace at the beach. I was amazed that they had buckwheat pancakes, which are glutenfree. Especially the Nordique pancake was very tasty!

Personnel accueillant et à votre service malgré le monde.
Même s'il y a eu un peu d'attente le gérant (je suppose) a été très aimable et professionnel.
Ma fille et moi avons très bien mangé, les plats étaient délicieux et les tarifs sont plus que corrects.
Si nous avons l'occasion de revenir sur Wimereux, je n'hésiterai pas à retourner à cette adresse! ☺

Nous étions 2 adultes 2 enfants. Endroit sympathique. Accueil chaleureux. Personnel agréable et à l'écoute de la demande. Du service à l'assiette tout était excellent. Rapport qualité prix au top. Nous reviendrons.
Édit : Nous sommes revenus, 2éme réservation faites. Cette fois-ci en terrasse sous le soleil et bien placé face à la mer. Toujours excellent. Ça sera notre QG pour nos vacances annuels.
Coup de coeur pour les moules sauce crème ail et spaghettis noir aux crevettes.

Nous n’avions pas réserver mais il restais de la place. Établissement très propre, on a bien mangé jusqu’au dessert et café.
