Cascade d'Autoire

I ran here whilst saying at a local FrancePassion..it was the most amazing scenery..unspoilt and beautiful..The trek down was both scarey and stunning..the hikes around here are 'incroyable' Merci la France 🇫🇷

Nice little walk to high waterfalls. Not suitable for a dip though, paths set off by fences to protect the aquatic wildlife

Well worth doing the walk and enjoying the pathway through the trees. The last part is very steep and one side of the village has a road much shorter than the other and easier to walk on with better paving.

Great little 3km loop hike. Kid friendly.
Can be slippery sometimes.
Ideal hike in hot summer : it's shady and cooled by the river.
We had a blast !

Amazing waterfall well hidden in the end of the valley- a walk of 1.2km (in reality you will feel more) is totally worthy once you see the beauty of the waterfall.

Our first waterfall in France! The walk from the village is just over 1km I think.

It’s a nice waterfall and trails there are nice, it’s a shame is not allowed to get in the water

not an amazing waterfall, it is small and no much water.
However it is a nice and flat walk.
you can do a loop walk via the village which is nice.

A long drive from South Dordogne, but a truly pretty set of waterfalls. Nice car park with just 2 euro charge for whole day and a clear path to follow. Not suitable for elderly or infirm and difficult for pushchairs. Certain spots are dangerous for off lead dogs or feral children. Walk about half a mile to the main cascade.

The walk to the cascade builds up your anticipation and excitement as you can hear it but you can't see it. There are mini waterfalls and babbling brooks en route to keep you distracted on the 30min hike. On a warm day it is very humid in the canopied forest at the bottom of the valley. You are rewarded though with a 'Wow' factor at the end though. The spray is refreshing if you fancy removing your shoes and getting closer.
He parking isn't free, but the waterfall is and more than makes up for it. Plus Autoire is a great little 'Plus Beau' village to spend 30mins or so.
