Auberge du Noyer

As always we received a warm welcome. We had a wonderful fish & chips meal on Friday with friends who equally enjoyed their meal. A return early Monday morning visit for a very tasty full English breakfast. Would highly recommend the Auberge not just for the excellent food but also the welcoming atmosphere and caring staff.

We moved to France end of December and went along to new comers evening put on by Steve and Shaun. We have since eaten there several times , and never been disappointed. Having spent my career within pubs and 5 star hotels it is wonderful to see old school service, knowledge, welcome and nothing is a problem . Many landlords could learn a lot from these guys . And to top it off we have moved from North Devon where we believed fish and chips could not be beaten ..... Well Steve and Shaun you certainly serve the best fish ever .

First time eating here and wow wasn't disappointed.

Went for lunch here. Lovely English hosts. Rural location. Rustic setting. Excellent food. Generous portions. Not over expensive. Open on labour day. What's not to like!!

Second visit in recent weeks. First visit was during a mid week evening with friends. Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommend the fish and chips.. cooked beautifully!
We visited today for a Sunday lunch. Booked over the phone last minute, we were accommodated easily despite it being busy. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, stunning! The staff are so friendly and hard working. Excellent roast dinner.. just the right portion and beautifully cooked! Excellent value for money. Thank you!

Loved it here. The menu was varied: both French and British cuisine. I went for the steak and ale pie with fresh vegetables. It was lovely and hot and very tasty. Then I had chocolate pudding with cream. Very nice! The setting is very pretty and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend coming here.

We had a family lunch at this fabulous restaurant earlier this week. The food and service was excellent with lots of choice for every pallet. The majority of the family had fish and chips with mushy peas which I can highly recommend. The cost of the food and drink was very reasonable. We will certainly make a return visit the next time we visit France.

A traditional British Christmas lunch today was excellent and large portions. I live nearby but havent had a roast here before, but will definitely be back. Fish and chips are also highly recommended. The owners and staff are very friendly.

We visited for a Christmas dinner today, there were 18 of us and everyone felt that the food was exceptional with plenty of options and more than enough food. All the staff were friendly and the service was quick and efficient. We would definitely recommend going here to eat

I had dinner here with my friend on my last night before heading home to the USA after a month and n the the French countryside. Sharon was a delightful server and the food was great. We also enjoyed chatting with Steve and Sean in the bar after our meal. We thought the place was adorable, the food very good and the price most reasonable. Well worth our time.

Excellent service, friendly and polite. Sunday roast was lovely, and plenty of it. Dessert menu good and varied. Will definitely go there again next time we're over.

The surroundings are lovely and the greetings very welcoming. A very generous amount of meat in my steak and ale pie and my wife loved the battered cod. Good value for money, will definitely return!

We are so lucky to have the Auberge du Noyer as our local. Great and varied entertainment, great selection on the menu, fantastic all they can do for you staff and at the helm, 2 brilliant owners that go out of their way for you to make your visit as pleasant as possible. 10/10

When we are on holiday in our caravan in the area we always make sure we vist the Auberege du Noyer as it is a lovely experience.

You can sit out in a gorgeous French courtyard & when there is live music on a warm summer evening it makes it feel even more special

I came to France, and particularly Cognac division, in order to view a château in the area. Auberge du Noyer was recommended to me as a reasonably priced and comfortable restaurant.

What I found was exactly what I needed. Service with a smile, and by absolutely genuine people. I wanted to get a feel for that real French experience that everyone has been talking about; the relaxed environment, friendly atmosphere, and excellent food. I got everything in bundles. The thing is, they made me feel more at home than when I'm at home. All the waiting staff gave me time and talked about their experiences, and so too the owner of the establishment.

From the general atmosphere, I noticed how the other customers at the restaurant were also so at ease. So, I wasn't the only one with such a positive experience. By the way, this Excellent restaurant is owned and run by British Expats. I couldn't recommend it more. If you're ever in the area, put this place on your list of 'must do's'. And, try the Lamb Shank, it's delicious.. !
