Hôtel Restaurant Le Lion d'Or

Excellent place to visit, although cheaper than most and only a 2 star hotel. Very quirky hotel maybe a negative for some people but lovely with a nice atmosphere and great staff, also very clean. Definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

Lovely place, rather quirky as very old building but well modernised. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent location right in the old town. Also... opposite is the hotel restaurant which is absolutely brilliant! The wine was superb as was the food. If you're traveling in France, very much worth a visit

I was staying at “Lion D’or” which was an all-around amazing experience. Firstly, their administration desk for check-in is normally only open till 8pm. I contacted them and let them know that I would be arriving at the station after 8, and they were kind enough to inform me that only a single taxi runs in the entire town and that I needed to call to book ahead! My heroes! They then remained late for a very quick and easy check-in where they also said breakfast could be provided for an extra 8EUROS a day (and it was worth it – buffet of classic European breakfast with endless coffee) and told me I would be in their second building which was just outside of the medieval gate that begins the town.

Unfortunately, their free wireless internet doesn’t reach from the main building to the secondary building, but I never went to the desk to complain because the rest of my experience was too lovely. The young lady working there even gave me a “good morning” every time she saw me walking along the street. The rooms were small, but for the little time you spend in there, they were perfect: clean, newly renovated washrooms and floors, and it’s just such a convenient location and great price compared to other hotels in Rocamadour (my single room was 45EUROS a night). Highly recommended hotel!

Best food in Rocamadour. Well priced set menus and lots of more expensive dishes to choose from should you wish. Had an excellent salad, followed by steak frites and ice cream for €14.50!

Hotel is in a fantastic location. Parking a bit tight. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had an evening meal in the restaurant and it was very good, service was fantastic.

just returned from a weeks hoilday with Alpha holidays fabulous time , hotel is beautiful , Sally and her Husband were perfect host couldnt do enough really made you feel welcome. Chris who was the driver for Alpha was excellent , went out of his way to ensure had a wonderfiul time woudl recommed a stay here thank you very much to you all

The restaurant is mostly crowded by tourists but the food is really top! Plus the views around the cliff. Great service too!

The food and service was incredible, thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was a typical continental. Will certainly fine in there again.
