Awesome property with wonderful views on the countryside from the shadowed terrasse and the marvelous, clean saltwater pool. Amazing hosts maiking sure that we missed nothing, helped with car bbreakdown and provided inside tips for excursions. Great base for discovering medieval Dirdogne and prehistoric grottes(Lascaux). Hope to be back in the future!

The House on The Hill is nestled in the heart of nature, offering ample outdoor space, a beautiful new pool, and a charming 3-bedroom house with all the amenities. Jamie and Esther are great hosts, always friendly and approachable, ensuring a delightful stay.

We stayed in the fabulous Mongolian yurt for two nights, and it was a magical experience. Beautifully decorated, with a super comfortable double bed and lots of lovely decor. The new pool is stunning, with views over the countryside. The kitchen and BBQ were well appointed and the loo and shower perfect. Glamping as it should be done. We can heartily recommend.

The House on the Hill Gîte is a place of fantastic tranquility and beauty.

We spent a joyful stay here enjoying the salt-water pool and beautifully appointed Gîte. The setting is beautiful with plenty of room for kids to run around, lots of nice walks within the property. The village of Lauzun is a 10 minute cycle (or 2 minute drive) and has all the facilities you could need (butcher, baker, cafe/bar, bank, restaurants, pharmacy etc.). It’s also within 30 minutes of more excellent restaurants than you could shake a stick at.

The hosts are lovely and available when needed but otherwise give lots of space. They’re full of helpful advice on activities and eating opportunities in the area. They made our stay quite lovely.

It’s a great place to relax and recharge. We’ll be visiting again…

Some places are so special that you can't keep them secret no matter how much you might want to. There are some people who are just so hospitable, caring and kind that they feel like life-long friends after just a few weeks. Jamie and Esther are those kinds of people. And the place? It is just South of Bergerac.

We stayed for two weeks glamping in the care of the family from the House on the Hill and it is a time that we will never forget.

An authentic Mongolian yurt, with rugs, furniture and even twinkling LED lights at night. You have your own outdoor kitchen, a seating area and a separate shower room with composting loo. This is all tucked away from the house and gite behind a barn, so you feel private. There’s even your own hammock!

All this is situated just a stone's throw from the magnificent swimming pool, shared with the nearby gite.

The Yurt is sizeable, comfy, even indulgent, and the grounds are idyllic - a mixture of pasture, and a small forest - there are nearly thirty acres to explore. Enjoy sundowners at fire-pit at the top of the hill with seating and blankets, or in the morning walk along the stream that runs along the Valley floor. During the day birds of prey circle lazily in the thermals above and on the ground the grasshoppers, butterflies and skinks all compete for the best perch.

Lauzun a tiny picturesque commune in beautiful rural Southern France, its is wine country, around every corner a vineyard, or a sunflower farm. It is so beautiful, we sometimes felt we were living in a painting. We loved visiting the surrounding Bastide Towns, chateaux, and cities - there is so much to explore we feel like we have only scratched the surface!

If all this sounds amazing - it is. But what really made our experience special were our hosts. Jamie and Esther couldn’t do enough for us, when Jamie heard that I forgot to pack paprika he popped around the corner with a fresh pot. Both Jamie and Esther are a wealth of knowledge on the local area and helped us with recommendations and personalised itineraries.

We are all so grateful for our stay, feeling refreshed, recharged, and reconnected through the magic of this unique place.

Of the natural surroundings. The pretty Bastide towns and villages, castles and lakes, this beautiful area had to offer, were all within easy reach. We shall certainly visit again.

Awesome. I live nearby but might stay just for fun. The pool is awesome as is the setting just outside the beautiful medieval village of Lauzun.
