Champagne Fernand Lemaire

I’ll admit, I was not a huge fan of champagne before my tour of Fernand Lemaire. However, after the tour, presented by the 4th generation owner I might add, my interest and overall appreciation for champagne was absolutely peaked! Frédéric and his wife Christine demonstrated their knowledge and passion for producing a quality champagne through a sustainable process. The samples were sooo tasty! I ordered more bottles than I care to divulge! I highly recommend a visit to this family-run champagne maker during your trip to Hautvillers!

What a delight ! Really enjoyed speaking with Benoit. Passionate about his product and his family heritage. We were able to make space in the car to bring home a couple of cases…looking forwards to enjoying some Champagne back in the UK.

Visited this family owner Champagne house as part of our Champagne tour. The owner himself did the tour for us, he explained the whole process of making champagne and we had the chance the see his cellar. He was very engaged and super friendly. The tasting afterwards was great too, we tried two Brut and one Rose, can definitely recommend it.

We had a wonderful time at the champagne house. The guide was excellent, the caves were fascinating and the champagne was absolutely delicious. We bought 12 bottles but wish we’d bought more. Highly highly recommend!

Really amazing family owned champagne house, we had a great time drinking and learning about how they process their champagne from start to finish. The quality of their champagne was amazing and we couldn't help but pick up some bottles :) Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Excellent explanations ! One of the places to be while in Hautvillers. You shouldn't leave before trying their best in class Extra Brut and Myra, just grabbed multiple boxes. Treat yourself and try them.

We went to Champagne from Paris on a self-guided day trip. After we visited the Ave de Champagne in Epernay, we took a taxi to Hautvillers to see the vineyards. As we were walking around, we stopped by the house of Champagne Fernand Lemarie, which was a small quaint house with huge hospitality and genuine love and passion for their work! When we popped in, we had a 3-glass tasting which was very affordable (6 euros for 3 samples, if I recall correctly). The champagne was delicious! What made the experience even more amazing was the warm hospitality of the son (this is a 4th generation family business). We visited (unknowingly) on the last day of harvest and were invited to see the champagne making process which was very special! I purchased a bottle of champagne to take back to friends to share the story of this family, their craft, and their enthusiasm for welcoming us into their world. Merci!

One of the best cellar tours I've ever done, thanks to Benoit Lemaire for the tasting and for allowing us to visit one of the cellars in the Champagne region. I recommend everyone to live this experience! Encore merci!

Was not able to get in for the tour of cellar but enjoyed the Champagne tasting and discussion with Helene Lemaire on the ways how she runs the operation. You can feel the passion of making the Champagne and running the place. Will come back for the tour. Thank you Perrine for hosting us.

Very lovely champagne house to visit. We went there spontaneously and we loved the house and the champagnes. Because of the harvesting season we were able to taste some freshly pressed grape juice from the winepress. After the tasting the champagne owner was so kind to deliver the boxes of wine to our AirBnb in Hautevillers. Highly recommend!

On a champagne sourcing trip for our wedding, Fernand Lemaire was recommended to us by another winemaker in Hautvilliers who had sold out. We went to check it out and received a warm welcome from the Lemaire family despite our lack of an appointment. This was the second champagne house we visited and, after trying around eight further places, we decided that this was the best option and purchased x66 for our wedding. Their Brut Reserve is incredible value. We were also given a cellar tour by Mr Lemaire himself. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here at this winery during our honeymoon. The owner, Christine, is very nice and welcoming, and the Champagne is excellent. We have since ordered another delivery.

Delightful owners making top-notch champagne. Had the opportunity to meet the makers for a tasting during a tour with Cris Events. They were friendly enough to let us tour their cave and facilities. After the tasting, we bought a few bottles, including their blanc des blancs and a millesime.
