Our tour guide recommended Pâtisserie Chocolaterie Bigot and they did not disappoint. The eclairs were scrumptious and the flan was the best I have ever eaten. A very cheery shop with really nice and helpful people. We would highly recommend this shop for pastries.

It's The place where to have a delicious breakfast when u stay the night at Amboise!! Everything is just fresh and prepared with the obvious passion that covers this beautiful 100 years old family bakery and pastry. We loved the croissant, pain au chocolat, the strawberry millefeuilles and the cheese comté tart. As for the drinks, delicious fresh orange juice, cappuccino and café latte!! The place is authentic and beautifully maintained, the staff are just adorable!! Highly recommend!

Superb! Lovely family-run traditional tearoom. The pastries, juice and chocolate are really delicious (especially the strawberry cake). I went three times in three days and bought stuff to take away as well!

Delicious croissant, ham and gruyere omelette, press coffee, and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Warm and inviting service.

We'll gladly eat here again.

I tried a cake with a green cherry on top at this shop during my France trip, and it was really delicious. It's one of the highlights that made my trip memorable.

Just look at this window display. Bought chocolate, loved it, but the display was an experience on its own.

In my 14 days in France, I had my best pastries and breakfasts here at Bigot. It is all gourmet except for maybe the coffee. I like my expresso strong and it was a bit on the weak side but tasty.

Great chocolates you won't regret it. If you can, order a hot chocolate. Wonderful service and they speak English too.

Excellent place for a small meal, a sorbet, or tea or coffee with cake. Located on a nice corner in the old city, the terrace features views over the Amboise castle. Excellent for watching people passing by. Toilets are clean and at least one had a diaper changing table. Service is friendly. Recommended place.

Delicious salad, macaron and chocolate! Quite crowded and staff seems a bit overwhelmed. Seating outside allows for good people watching and reprieve from the crowds inside.

When we saw this place, my son and I both said, "This makes me think of Chocolat!" (the Movie) BEAUTIFUL window displays of chocolate, marzipan, pastries, macaroons, etc., etc., etc. But don't let all the sweets fool you into thinking you can't get a meal there. They have great omelettes, great coffee, wonderful hot chocolate and the bread, well, it's fresh! We ate there three times. The owner showed us the pictures of her parents, who opened the shop in 1915. I was there with my 89 yr old mother and my son. Her daughter also works there. I loved the pottery they served the water in and asked her where I could get some. She gave me the name of the place in Monnaie and then called the place to make sure they were open. When we went back the second time, she greeted my mom with a hug and a kiss. We went back a third time!

I think this may be my favorite restaurant in all of France - maybe the world! Delicious pastries, chocolates, croissants, omelette, quiche. Very friendly. Definitely get the thè de Noel - such flavor! I could eat here for every meal!

Fantastic place for a light lunch and amazing treats. This place specializes in chocolate and you simply must try them. Their pastries are also to die for; better still, whatever the season, have a hot chocolate. All this in a very quaint setting which makes you feel like you are in the French version of Downton Abbey, just facing the Royal Castle of Amboise. A must see after your visit of the Castle before you continue to the Clos Lucé.
