Café Jean

We had an excellent evening at Café Jean. It was a fairly packed house (80-90% of the seats were filled for the 2+ hours that we were there), but the staff were still friendly and attentive to our needs, and our orders came swiftly. HUGE PORTIONS (both food and drinks), which were delicious.

If you are Strolling in the 'Quartier Jaures' in Pàris, and you are hungry and or thirsty, this is the place to go to. Friendly and fast waitress, really professional. The food was amazing, and well prepared. I know what I speak of as my Dad was a French Chef, and worked for famous people and even a King. All of France is short of young workers right now, and we had one waitress handling many tables alone. Great work she did. Again, I highly suggest you stop there. ***The "Croque-Monsieur" (Grilled Ham & Cheese are out of this world.

Very nice café/restaurant with large portions, good ingredients and highly friendly staff. Well recommended if you wish to have a bite before a concert at the Zenith or the Philharmonie.

We shared a lovely evening with friends at Cafe Jean and we were all so happy with the very friendly, warm and even funny server/manager/owner, as well as wonderful home made food -- tapenade, mayo and all the desserts, for example. For the price, the dinner, along with the service, was of the best finds in all of Paris. It was a great place to come after the concert at the Philharmonie. We will come again for sure!

Excellent croque madame and fries, really great service, nice neighborhood ambience! Definitely recommend!

The service is supper nice, they have WiFi (no super high speed but I could manage some work stuff). Just went there for a coffee but it's worth to come back :)

The burger was great - a little pricey but no more so than most other places to eat in Paris.

The price was definitely offset by portion size and quality of the food - both were great and house fries especially good.

Black olives were offered for free and unlike any other Paris restaurant I have been to - this place served tap water for free and without having to ask for it.

Food was fabulous, and the service could not be faulted! They even offered free water for the table which is very uncommon in Paris! I had the Burger Jean (à point) and it was amazing, cooked to perfection and served with loads of skin-on homemade fries and green salad. Thank you!

We ate there 2 times during our stay in Paris, and it was excellent both times. We both had steaks the first time being grilled exactly as ordered (one medium, one rare), the salad was fresh, only the fries could have been a but more crisp. The second time we had fish/tartar and both were excellent as expected.

The service was fast and waiters really really polite (you somehow don't find that often enough in Paris).

I tried speaking in my mediocre french but they switched to english when we had an impasse. I also saw that people only speaking English had no problem getting through!

Overall great restaurant, will go there again if I visit Paris next time!

Lovely breakfast! 7€ for croissant, bread with butter and jam, cappuccino and orange juice. I'll 100% be back!

Price Super! Quality Super! A bit loud when you eat at midday! Big plus it is air conditioned!

I live in the 19th arrondissement and I come very often to Café Jean (at least once a week). The food is great, the place is cozy and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend the place if you are in the area.

A nice place to have a meal before going the Zenith Paris. Waitress are friendly and always make you comfortable.
