This was spectacular.

The owners are wonderful. We went straight back the second night to take more people.

The atmosphere in the little plaza is everything you'd hope for from a small village.

Every course was among the best I've had. Stand outs were:
Starters
- tempura prawns
- beef tartar
- melon and ham

Mains
- duck confit was the best I've ever had

Dessert
- the chocolate fondant with custard was sublime.

On the wine, Try the Roseberry, exceptional wine, and way better having it here than at the wine estate 30 minutes away.

Do yourself a favour and visit here if you're ever in the area.

Excellent meal. This restaurant shows as a brasserie but it is much more. It has finess and supper friendly staff and just a bit more refined than a brasserie. The food was well presented, the green curry chicken was nicely spicy, just enough to make you breath hard but not enough to burn.
We will be back.

A visit for Sunday lunch with a friend. All the buzz of market day. Efficient service, very tasty food. Great rapport qualité prix. Fluent English spoken.

I don’t think I have ever been to a restaurant with such lovely, attentive and friendly owners.
We turned up as the kitchen was shutting with 10 children and 6 adults. Instead of turning us away like the man down the road, they opened the kitchen back up and served us food, all with smiles on their faces.

The food was delicious, as was the wine we ordered!

If we ever stay in this part of France again, we will definitely be visiting!

Very friendly and good service every time we have visited. This evening when we arrived as a party of 7 and a dog unexpectedly, our original dinner plans having been thrown into disarray, they fitted us in with no problem. They also were accommodating of the fact that some of our party were driving back to the UK tonight so perhaps wanted a less leisurely service than one might normally expect for a family dinner. Food of good quality with a small but interesting menu of classics and some more adventurous dishes.

Very good dinner. Staff and service was wonderful. English is understood, which helps us from Australia. The menu is classic French but has some nice choices not usually found, which we were hanging out for. Just needed a curry. Wines and coffee was excellent.
Deserts were also excellent.
Highly recommend.

Great food, friendly service

Exceptional restaurant in the centre of Montcuq. Patrick and Penny are perfect hosts, the menu suits all, my vegetarian daughter had the vegetarian curry dish and having toured France from north to south and lived in Paris she said best she has tasted. Prices are reasonable, attentive service, clean and terrace or dinig room perfect

As always, the food and atmosphere is simply brilliant! Can’t recommend it more!

This is one of our favourite places to either just sit and have a coffee and a croissant or a glass of wine, depending the time of day! Food and service excellent.
