Great place for breakfast - with a range of healthy options. I opted for the croque bougeotte which was delicious - the right balance of sweet and savory with the caramelized onions ! Coffee was on point, and you must try their freshly made madeleines ! Yum !

Went to this cafe after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. Staff very attentive and friendly. The food was cooked to order and we will definitely visit again when in St Malo.

What a find! The staff were super friendly! The coffee and fresh OJ perfect! The patisserie were all 10/10! Then the RÖSTI! What delicious food clearly made with love. A super side salad dressed to perfection, the best rösti ever with superb crème fresh, dill, egg and bacon! 🥓 A brunch spot not to miss! It was the only place that I could find that was open for a coffee and a croissant before 0830 on a Sunday morning in St Malo Intra Muros, and it was lovely.

So delicious and a lovely environment! Such kind staff as well! They just opened up (moved from Paris), if you are visiting Saint-Malo you must go for breakfast or lunch! Also only place I could find matcha and it was soooo good :)

Bougeotte is likely the best kept culinary secret in Saint Malo.

Of course the historic intra-muros area of Saint Malo is filled with many opportunities to eat, but Bougeotte is unique, different, and simply delicious.

This place is a Coffeeshop first and foremost, that can and does turn into a astonishing tapas style restaurant for lunch. For the summer evenings they will offer their delicious meals for dinner as well.

Bougeotte offers a new style and new approach to Saint Malo intra-muros, a place where all can feel welcome, and a place where all can find many mouthwatering surprises without having to commit to only a single dish or a large and long multi course endeavor.

The experienced owners bring creativity, sustainability, and a great variety of options to the table, which we experienced when we spontaneously tested first the coffee shop menu in the morning, and then a truly outstanding dinner menu in the evening.

Bougeotte aims for locally and sustainable food sources. Everything is fresh, and locally sourced. This farm to table approach then gets a wonderful spin of creativity, resulting in a thoughtfully elected mix of changing offerings.

You just want really good coffee, coffee that tasted supérieur, but coffee that does not make you feel bad later? Bougeotte is a perfect coffee shop to seek out.

For lunch and dinner, the menu transforms. Comfort food is just as available as healthy locally sourced options, ranging from selected meats, fish, or cheese, to many very nutritious and delicious vegetarian and vegan options.
Many menu items can be adjusted upon request, adding additional vegan options or allowing for food sensitivities.

While the owners experiment and find the proper balance for a long term sustainable coffee shop and restaurant, make sure to give them a try. Your tastebuds will enjoy every minute of it.

For us this was clearly and unequivocally the number one winner of the many great kitchens that we sampled here in Saint Malo.

Regardless how the story for Bougeotte continues, and regardless which approach will work for the creative owners in the long run, rest assured that Bougeotte is here to stay.

The best thing is, you can try many different things from the menu. Food is served in tapa style portions that can be enjoyed individually or that can be shared. The quality and the superior taste will make each visit unforgettable.

We will keep an eye on this place and highly recommend it to all!

Cozy coffee and breakfast spot in Saint Malo. Delicious coffee and fresh local bread and pastries. Their homemade jams are “super”! Highly recommend.

Great find ! We stumbled across this cafe in the city walls fresh of the ferry. From the moment we went in it was superb. Such friendly service, great food and for me it was all about the coffee. Let’s be honest in France it’s not good . However this place has moved with the times . Go and see for yourself .
