Château de Hautefort

What a beautiful Chateau! So nice to see one almost intact full of antique furnishings and with a long history. The position on top of the hill and the gorgeous gardens were another bonus. The restaurant was very good too with lots of choice for vegetarians and at affordable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

What a beautiful chateau and well worth a visit. Affordable at €12 for adults. It is also close to the town of Hautefort We had a lovely day out with our young adult son who enjoyed it too.
We all had a galette in the court yard cafe which was delicious and surprisingly very filling, definitely worth a visit if you live or are visiting the area.

Not the biggest castle/chateau, however one of the best state possible and looking mighty up on the hilltop with beautifull landscaping around..!

This beautiful castle is wonderful to visit, as it is permitted to roam freely through many of the spaces. There is also a delightful terrace where we enjoyed a delicious lunchvon the central courtyard.

Chateau de Hautefort is stunning, from beautifully maintained gardens to wander around to the well dressed rooms to take in the past there is something to see whilst the position allows uninterrupted views of the countryside. A great way to spend the day!

So well maintained... the gardens, the chateau itself, all beautiful. And it appears to be a movie set even. Very much worth a visit!

Very beautiful castle with a lot of history, extensive gardens and great views all around. A real pleasure spending the day here with a loved one :)

Likely one of the most beautiful place in the area. The castle was rebuild with concrete after it burned in 1968 but you cannot see the concrete unless you get a chance to visit the non-renovated parts. The castle appears in many different movie, and connaisseur of French movies might remember some. We visited the castle in the morning, before June and enjoyed the place without the crowd. When closed during lunchtime (check the schedule), the castle is closed but you can enjoy the park and the French gardens. There is a very nice spot to eat your lunch (with tables) at the top of the hill in the English garden.

Beatifully maintained castle and garden. It is definitely worth a visit and the drive, if you are close by. The entire grounds can be explored.

Gorgeous château and gardens! The restorations and selection of antiques are paintings are breathtaking. And you won't want to leave the gardens! There's also a delicious café on site. Highly recommend spending a half day or longer here.

Like all the Chateaux in this region, Le Chateau d'Hautefort is like no other. Beautiful and magnificient, it stands tall and majestic and silently tells its story of times gone by. Worth a visit, you will not be disappointed.
