Hôtel Les Griffons

Step into the authentic French culture! We went to dine at the restaurant and everything was absolutely top-notch; from the service, the coziness of the place with a table by the fire, to the quality of the food. The chefs are innovators, surprising you with a 8 course high quality tasting menu and no indications on what it contains before hand.. a remarkable experience! To top all that, the ambiance of the place is unique thanks to the professionalism and friendliness of the owners and the staff. Look around and enjoy the surroundings as you have truly stepped in the beautiful French countryside.I can only recommend it!

Most beautiful Hostellry with excellent staff, good restaurant and superb position in a picturesque village. Love it here! Oh and the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river, gorgeous!

Stunning hotel and room on a idyllic river-side location. Stayed with my partner and two young children for 3 nights. The owner was so delightfully attentive and friendly, even going to the trouble of getting the high-chair and tissues (runny little noses!) ready for breakfast before putting some pastries in a parcel for us to take out for the day. She made excellent recommendations such as a local flea market and village BBQ and spoke superb English. Bedroom was beautifully clean and styled, bed was super comfortable. Highly recommend this quaint, beautiful hotel. I want to go back.

A dream of a little hotel. Unique room's exquisite location and such friendly staff and owner. It's a must if you're visiting this area. Great breakfast but no restaurant. Plenty of choice in the village. The one beside the church was excellent.

Liked · We stayed at this wonderful hotel to cut our travel to the south of france in half. It was the best decison! The location is dreamy and so quiet, the food and drinks at the restaurant are just wonderful and the staff lovely and helpful. You can't start your vacation in a more "tranquillle" way.
Special mention for the breakfast: local meats and cheese and homebread breads, brioches and pain perdus. It was absolutely delicious!

Don’t hesitate to book Hostellerie Les Griffons. It is every bit as good as the multiple previous reviewers report. The room we had was big, beautiful, quiet, comfortable, well serviced and with a view of the bridge over the adjacent river Dronne. The hotel location is very romantic in apperance. It is a great location for driving to the many nearby attractions. The interior is finished pleasantly. There are nice public areas and the WiFi works perfectly. Local residents reported that it was one of the best restaurants in the wider area, and was good value. What makes this place a “must book” is the restaurant and the exceptional care provided by the owners and staff. Very rarely does a place elevate itself to “magical” by some mysterious way. Could be the stunning location, or the ducks swimming past during dinner, or the top-quality chef, or the genuine caring staff, or the feeling you don’t want to leave. Hostellerie Les Griffons has found the right recipe to make this a wonder place to stay.

Charming small hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful location by the river and almost at the foot of the much celebrated chateau.

In September 2022 we stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Les Griffons in the beautiful French town of Bourdeilles in the gorgeous Dordogne region of France. The hotel is very centrally located in the town. On the night we arrived they where not serving food in the restaurant so we were directed to the Nomad restaurant. Please see my other review. The manger was very helpful in getting us a booking, even though the restaurant were not taking bookings from the general public. The rooms at the Les Griffons were very comfortable and we had a window which looked out over the river, it was a beautiful view. The breakfasts were gorgeous with fruit, meats cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice as well as other juices. Fresh French bread which I love and home made jams. There is a small swimming pool and a hot tub which you need to book if you want to use. Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. Parking nearby.

Lovely location for comfortable, warm and friendly hotel. Our dog was welcomed and breakfast was great.

I have stayed at Les Griffons many times over the years. It is true French style accommodation in a picturesque setting. Am sure you'll love it!!

Cet hôtel situé en bord de rivière dans un splendide paysage est un vrai havre de paix les chambres sont somptueuses confortables bien équipées et d'une propreté exemplaire.
Mais la cerise sur le gâteau concerne le restaurant les tables sont dressées sur la terrasse dominant la rivière les plats proposés sont une veritable explosion des goûts et des saveurs ils sont élaborés avec beaucoup d'originalité de créativité et de générosité.
Les propriétaires ainsi que le personnel sont chaleureux et très à l'écoute de leurs clients.
Les tarifs pratiqués sont tout à fait raisonnables pour la qualité des prestations proposées.
En conclusion si vous souhaitez passer un séjour inoubliable dans un cadre idyllique c'est dans cet établissement qu'il faut poser vos bagages.

Gîtes nous avons séjournés en famille.

Le lieu est magnifique, apaisant, entouré du château de bourdeilles et de la Drône ou nous pouvons y pêcher.

Le gîte que nous avons réservé est une annexe de l'hôtel les griffons ou nous avons pu profiter de la piscine et du spa de l'hôtel.

Le personnel ainsi que le directeur de l'hôtel sont d'une gentillesse, et très serviable et ont répondus à nos moindre attentes.

Je vous recommande vivement cet hébergement où nous ne manquerons pas d'y retourner.

Pas dormi sur place , donc pas grand chose à dire sur les chambres, mais par contre , côté emplacement et restauration, alors là , trop top . Merci pour cet agréable moment

Super lieu. Nous avions une chambre spacieuse pour 3 sous les toits. Vue magnifique sur le pont et sur le chateau. Litterie super confortable, salle de bain propre avec WC séparé. Accueil et service très agréable. On a passé un super moment et on recommande.
