Brilliant place for learning about the history of Mont Saint Michel and the lives of the Monks there. Entry ticket price reduced with full ticket for Mont Saint Michel.(Usually 9€ reduced to 5€)

On the way to the museum there is a small castle that you can walk up and find some sculptures as well as a small ? library

There are lockers for visitors to use for free. The place opens at 10am and withing walking distance of the carpark in the town centre.

I particularly enjoyed the virtual guide (included with full ticket). Really glad I went out of the way to visit this place.

Excellent presentation of how medieval writings were created and recorded at Mont Saint Michel. Spent 2 hours immersed in history from around 800AD through the middle ages.

Extremely interesting and I always take my students there. Highly recommended 👌

It is very interesting. If you go there before the Mont Saint Michel, you can learn more about the history of the construction and the life of the monks.

A very modern and interactive place. Exposition well done. Just a few of Mont Saint Michel Abbey volumes exposed.
It does not give you a sense of the whole collection. Nice temporary photo exhibition.

The Mont Saint Michel Abbey was a visual feast. It was there that we learned about the Scriptorial. The Scriptorial provided an intellectual and historical feast that complemented the Abbey experience well. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a significant (close to 50%) discount on our entrance fee when we showed our tickets to the Mont Abbey. All the manuscripts stored at the Scriptorial have been scanned and can be viewed online. But there is something awe-inspiring about seeing in person some of the finest illuminated manuscripts ever created.

So much to see here about Mont St Michel and the history of the area. Spacious, some seating for when you are tired reading and walking.

Magnifique et très bien conçu pour connaître l'histoire du Mont Saint Michel.Le personnel est très accueillant .J'ai pris un audioguide qui donne des explications très précises.

Esperienza molto interessante, che dovrebbe anticipare la visita del Mont Saint-Michel per avere un'introduzione più consapevole della storia e della meraviglia dell'abbazia.
Parcheggio gratuito abbastanza ampio nella piazza antistante.
Gratis per i minori di 18 anni.

Un musée agréable couvrant l histoire d'Avanches, du Mont mais également des techniques de la reluire, l'imprimerie, le papier, la photographie, etc

Content d'y avoir vu de vrais livres de 1000 ans d'âge et non pas des copies.

Une zone sympa avec des accessoires pour de prendre en photo, un bon moment pour les enfants.

Magnifique musée sur le mont Saint michel et l'histoire des manuscrits du mont saint michel (fabrication....). C'est très beau et très bien fait. Indispensable à visiter avant ou après la visite du mont saint michel. Vous apprendrez beaucoup de choses. Et dans la salle du trésor vous verrez quelques manuscrits avec des enluminures incroyables. C'est dans le centre-ville à côté des restes du château. Vraiment je recommande la visite. Personnel sympa

Un musée très intéressant qui nous plonge au cœur de l'histoire religieuse du mont saint Michel. Des statues, manuscrits et reliques très bien préservées. Le musée est tres bien équipé et aménagé. Allez y !
