Restaurant Le Lissier

We started the evening at the comfortable bar end, furnished with tables and chairs but also plush armchairs and settees, with a very tasty cocktail created by the owner Martin in honour of his daughter Lily. We then moved to the eating end of the establishment and settled in front of our starter Saumon Gravlax, beautifully presented on a thin grey slate. Our main courses, Fondu Creusois avec frites et charcuteries et Katsu Curry de poulet, were both so tasty, extremely well prepared and so delicious. Our shared dessert was a Tarte Citron meringuée which not only looked fantastic but was also so light and so full of flavours. This evening really was an amazing culinary experience of which Martin and his team should be very proud.

Another one we found by chance as the place we were going to book at was closed. Just a 15 minute slow walk from the hotel (Aubusson is a small town). Very nice Birlou aperitif ( hadn't tried that before) and an excellent dinner in a pleasantly cool room. Friendly service from all. We were very impressed and will definitely return on our next French tour.

Random stop here on a roadtrip. The waitress didn’t speak English, but i am in France. So how can I complain? I ordered the beouf Limousine and requested it cooked “recommandé du chef” one of my few french words i know. It was delivered with a fabulous presentation & cooked perfectly rare. The steak was a little tough, so i cut it thin. But guess what? I was sort of expecting that. Before ordering it I googled “limousine beef”. It is a local breed of cow that was used as a draught animal and the price was a meager €23. So I expected a tougher cut of meat…lol. The macaron desert was also amazing. Excellent service & cuisine.

The food we wanted when we wanted it. We had a gravalax and a crayfish risotto.

Had the plat du jour for €18 and was not disappointed with any of it.An English speaking waitress was very helpful and efficient and even suggested a place to visit during our stay.

We were very happy to find Le Lissier open on a Monday at 13h45. It was a pleasant surprise to be warmly welcomed despite the time, and staff were very accomodating of our table including offering a high chair for our toddler. The whole place was very busy. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. My only quibble would be that my Lyonnaise salad was an overly generous 80% lardons and very little salad, I would have preferred a more balanced ratio, but my husband was happy to swap some lardons for his greens so it worked out in the end.

A great experience. A varied menu with well cooked and beautifully presented food.

What a fantastic place! Food was great, service amazing and there is such a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely place to eat.

Un des rares restaurants ouverts ce dimanche et par chance nous avons pu y savourer un fondu creusois avec un jambon de pays à tomber dans une ambiance sympathique.
Copieux et avons eu du mal à finir le thé gourmand.
