Elegance, warmth, and beauty! We had an exceptional stay in this 18th-century chateau in the countryside. Owners Inaki and Bernard have created a very special place that celebrates their passion for art, sculpture, and antiques. The surrounding property is breathtaking, and walking through the trees and gardens is a must! Breakfast was superb and served by the welcoming hosts. Don't miss this unique gem!

The castle sits excellently about 30mins away from Mt. St. Michel. It was fairly easy to get there. The room was impecable and comfortable. The bed was comfy, baths were modern and the service was exceptional. Breakfast was yummy, the garden was magnificent and honestly we felt happily lost in a fairytale of the 1800s. Bernard was an impecable host. Very friendly, knowledgeable and super pleasant. It was a great experience and we definitely recommend to nature and castle lovers. Restaurants, shopping, necessities and beach only 10-15mins away. Scenery of the area and the Chateau was itself was more than we could ever express in words. It would be a great honor to be able to visit again. Thank you for a lovely time. Until next time.

Just a wonderful place to spend a couple days while visiting the French countryside - wish we had more time! Bernard, the owner/host, is just the best - he will make you feel like a king (or queen) staying at his Château. Beautiful grounds and spectacular breakfast - no need to look anywhere else, because THIS is the place you're looking for! And don't forget to ask for the best scrambled egg you've ever had...not kidding!

Stayed here for a night and absolutely wonderful. The estate is beautifully maintained and perfect for a walk around. Castle itself is very tastefully done and according to the host almost all of the decors are original. And special mention about the hosts who are very friendly and always ready to give very useful tips about the locality and Mont-Michel.

As you drive down towards the Chateau the first word that pops into your mind is Wow!

We wanted a truly relaxing holiday and wow, didn't it deliver on all levels..the Chateau itself is just beautiful, homely and luxurious at the same time. The breakfast was out of this world and you feel amazingly spoilt with the food and service - one of the best breakfasts we have had.

The gardens were stunning, with walks, horses, swans and the occasional peacocks strolling around and terrace with stunning view (which is were we sat and had our evening picnics)

As well as all of the above, one of the best parts of this break was our host Bernard - simply superb, welcoming, attentive, nothing was too much trouble, and you were ultimately made to feel so welcome. We would go back tomorrow.

Thank you Bernard!!

We wanted to cancel the rest of our trip and just stay here.

The view from the Mont St Michel balcony is addictive, so make sure your schedule allows time for you to soak it in your first morning.

Bernard and Naki will take exceptional care of you and it is clear in every act they take how much they love sharing the Chateau with the world.

What a beauty! We were amazed by the castle and the parc. We visited the parc with our dogs. We all enjoyed it and had a wonderful walk with very nice pictures. There are several very old and majestic trees! We absolutely loved it.

It was by far our best accommodation on our 10 day Europe trip! The Chateau and its grounds were spectacular surrounded by peacocks, lakes, streams, and beautiful trees. Bernard was a fantastic host and the breakfast was incredible. Everything was fresh and grown locally at the chateau. We will definitely return!

One of the best stays in my life. We were not in a hotel or even a guest house, but we were welcomed as guests to our friends.
Room, view, garden — everything is amazing.
We've spent several hours just walking around the place.
Breakfast were like for kings.
Will definitely come back again.

The virtually perfect rating speaks for itself!

This is one of the most magical experiences I have ever had. It felt like stepping into a Jane Austen novel or into the life of a royal in 17th century France. Everything was absolutely perfect.
Rooms fit for a royal were made even better with completely modern and updated amenities.
Sprawling grounds covered in trees and the greenest grass you will ever see, upon which swans, peacocks, and horses wander.
Breakfasts made with fresh, local ingredients served to you on the most gorgeous silver and gold platters and fine china plates.
The castle itself has been lovingly restored and the interiors are to die for.
The ambience is amazing, as ambient classical music floats through the corridors disrupted only by the sound of birdsong.
This chateau is so perfect, do yourself a favor and book your trip here ASAP.

Bernard makes the most beautiful restaurant recommendations and will reserve your dinners for you.

Thank you so much Bernard, you spoiled us and made us feel like royalty. We will be back and will recommend Chateau de Chantore to everyone!

Very belated review, stayed here in Sep 2021. What an amazing place and equally amazing host Bernard is. A stunning and tranquil Chateau restored to its original grandeur. Breakfast was faultless, will definitely be back! I proposed to my fiancé here, so we have a lovely memory of this beautiful place. Thank you Bernard and I am sorry for the delayed review.

Very belated review (je suis désolé Bernard et Inaki) from a stay in the late summer of 2021. I have such fond memories of the dreamlike stay. My time there was like living in a fairy tale. The chateau and grounds are pristine. The suites are immaculate and spacious with an ideal combination of old world charm and modern convenience and amenities. Bernard and Inaki were wonderful from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was fabulous. A wonderful place to stay when touring the French countryside and idyllic way to end and begin each day with beautiful gardens, babbling brooks, peacocks, swans, and majestic horses. Oh...you can see Mont Saint-Michel from the chateau. Exceptional value. I will certainly stay again and recommend it wholeheartedly.

We could not recommend more staying at Chateau Chantore. It was our best accommodation during our two weeks trip through France, and the cherry on top after having visited a dozen castles in the Loire Valley.

Everything is taken care of up to the tiniest details, stating from the warm welcome, through the lavish breakfast of the bourgeoisie, the picture perfect castle and gardens, comfortable room, dinner recommendations and booking best tables, to the utterly friendly hosts. We’d return anytime.

This is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. Only 30 mins drive from Mont Saint-Michel. We felt very welcomed and really enjoyed our time here. One day isn't enough, I would recommend staying at least two nights. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. If you are in the area, I would 100% recommend this place.

We spent one of our last nights in France at Chateau de Chantore and what a way to end our trip! The chateau and its grounds are spectacular. The decor is beautiful and true to the period. Even the modern bathroom blends beautifully with its period surroundings. From the moment we arrived Bernard was attentive to our every need, offering us a welcome cider made from apples grown on the property! He also gave us excellent dining recommendations for our time in the area. The breakfast was far and away the best we had in all of France! It included scrambled eggs, ham, yogurt with fruit, croissants with locally made honey and jam, apple bread made with apples from the property ... I couldn’t possibly eat all that I wanted to! I am glad we chose the Mont Saint-Michel suite. What a treat to wake up to a view of it right outside our window! My only regret is that we didn’t have another night to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Chateau. It has been beautifully restored and furnished. Bernard is a gracious host who makes you feel very much at home. We explored the grounds and wished we could have stayed longer. Make sure you do at least two nights here! The breakfast is memorable, they outdo themselves with all they serve. We also had a wonderful dinner at a little restaurant Bernard suggested nearby.Such an amazing respite.
