Fabulous fresh seafood cooked perfectly with nice plating. Apple dessert was amazing. Highly recommend having dinner here. Reservations important during busy season. Nice wine list too.

We went close to closing at lunch but they were fine seating us. They were still very busy but fast service. We had oysters and the fish dish of the day and they were both delicious! They even had freshly baked Madeline’s for a treat at the counter. The area is very nice.

Reservations are really required, but they managed to squeeze the four of us into a bar table on a busy night. Amazing seafood and nice meal combination options - one appetizers, one entree and one dessert for €36. The seafood sampler appetizer is astonishing and the oysters are fantastic.

Searched on Tripadvisor for a good restaurant in Grandcamp-Maisy and found this one. We reserved for an evening meal and were not disappointed. Everything we had was cooked beautifully and wonderful flavours. Would highly recommend

La Marée is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Situated across from the port of Grandcamp-Maisy, this cozy restaurant exceeded all of my expectations. My group of six was immediately accommodated with both French and English menus after the waitress noticed our lacking language skills. Each and every one of the six entrees we ordered were excellent. I would highly suggest including seafood in at least one of your three courses - especially given that much of the seafood comes from Grandcamp-Maisy itself! Please patronize this lovely spot and their excellent staff!

The restaurants in the ports of this very touristique coast are rarely serving the truly local, fresh, seasonal products. This one does! And I am not sure where all the negative reviews about the service come from, we were attended to faultlessly, despite the fact that the restaurant was fully booked on that Saturday night! The chef is committed to to a very high standard, and that what you pay for on your plate. Thank you, Frederique !

Excellent, I ordered small sea food dish and sea bass for one person.

This wonderful restaurant is a testament to why American food….beyond Texas bbq….is sorely lacking. Hands down some of the best seafood I’ve ever had…anywhere. 35 Euro for a three course dinner where I had scallop ceviche with mango and red onion, bacon wrapped scallops on a squid ink risotto with lobster sauce….and a delightful tapioca filled pineapple won ton with a pineapple cake. My companions had the asparagus sea bass , oysters, and crème brûlée. As a proud American I can admit defeat to French cuisine….and this just kicked my butt. Se magnifique!!!

Quite a busy restaurant, lots of locals as well as tourists. Good menu and reasonably priced. We dined inside as we had not booked in advance, just arrived that evening.

Seven middle-aged blokes on a cycle trip through Normandy just had a genuinely fantastic meal here. From oysters, through a fruits de mer platter, through a sea bass risotto that was declared, by those that had it, to be outstanding - and these are blokes who eat out a fair bit in some nice restaurants in the UK. The cheeses were 'ok', not as ripe as I'd like/expect them to be. But it would be petty to deduct a star for this, because the rest was so good.

My wife and I had lunch here today just by happenstance and was this a great find! Let me just say the food was very very good and the presentation was beautiful. We speak little French but the staff was very helpful and guided us through the menu. The starters were as good and unique as I have ever had. I had the chilled bulots between lengths of cucumber and my wife had the oysters grilled with leaks and camembert cheese. For the main course I had the cod on black risotto, and my wife had the sea bass with leaks. Both were prepared perfectly. Then we had the desert and while I was happy with mine, my wife’s strawberry desert was ‘over the top’. The place was very busy so plan on getting there early.

Whether for lunch or dinner, your appetite will be sated at this stellar yet simple coastal seafood restaurant. Locally sourced ingredients blended beautifully with exquisite pairings and flavours. Hats off to the chefs and waiting staff. Trés bien

Really liked this place. Went twice with our Berner Sennen dog at the terrace and they were super chill about it. The food was fresh and nice. The service was great and fast.

Excellent food. Fresh, creatively cooked, delicious. If you want burger & chips you'll be better pleased elsewhere, but if you like real, good food (especially fish) this is outstanding. We've eaten here twice now, both times pleasantly surprised by the quality.

We came in for lunch and was very pleased with what we ate. The oysters with smoked salmon was excellent and the sea bass was out of this world. The crème brûlée was simple but delicious. Staff was friendly and the view over the busy port was nice.

Came across this restaurant on a cold, windy August Sunday lunchtime. No room inside, only availability on the outside terrace (very cold and draughty), but the food made up for it. I had the seabass with squid ink legumes and bisque, Lynne had the sea bream. Both were good, but the bass was above and beyond. Decent white wine, and a pleasant enough shared creme brulee rounded the meal off. Service was nothing more than efficient, but they were busy. Will be back, next time will book to get an inside table :-).

It was the only one open, but good foods. Need to like seafood. They had fruit on the table, which was a nice touch. The crab and seafood plates were works of art display.

It had amazing sea food and had excellent service.
