A delicious dinner and fantastic views of the lake. The staff were very attentive, and we couldn't ask for more. For lunch, dinner, or just a drink, we couldn't recommend it more highly. Great value.

We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed. The buffet starter is amazing, there is so much choice (salmon, trout, prawns, muscles, cold meats, cheeses etc).
The staff are all very friendly and efficient.
The view from the terrace overlooks the lake (Lac de Vassivière) and it us breathtaking all year round.
We highly recommend this place.

Lovely place, friendly and helpful waitress. Dogs are allowed, which was a bonus. Food was hot and tasty.

What a lovely place to eat lunch. The set midday menu was absolutely delicious and very good value. The setting overlooking the lake is breathtaking. We will definitely be back.

We visited L'escale today at lunchtime and received a warm welcome from the staff who were effecient and friendly.
We had visited this restaurant several times prior to covid and from this aspect the environment felt safe.
In spite of our limited French we made our choices known without problems. The standard of the food was excellent and the meal was an unhurried positive experience.

Considering how busy it was outside the holiday season, the service was very good and the waitress was very friendly and efficient. Great food, and lovely views over the lake. We'll be back soon.

Decor and toilets dated BUT food and service fantastic. Other half had a burger and I had a vegetarian burger both with fries. FaB. Delicious food and lovely icecream after. Prices not too bad. Veg Burger and fries 11 euro in June 2019 *might change. Thats about £9. For the quality of food and setting that is perfect. Beautiful lake views. Fantastic service and it was a heatwave day and packed, lady who served us was lovely. Puts many places to shame. Thank-u, returning SOON...
