So lucky to have been told about Cycling Position.
It's hard enough to find a bike shop in a new city with the time and expertise to help sort bike fit, customisation and endless bike issues.

James and Bec's have been so welcoming and friendly every visit, James has been a saviour and an all out honest and knowledgeable guy, his bike fit and last minute bike tweaks helped get me through my first Ironman 70.3
Honest advice on what is suitable, no over selling of parts that aren't truely needed, only the recommended parts to remove any pains and niggles as well a fitting to make cycling a true joy.

Always accommodating and quick to help sort any last minute questions or panic issues, I could not recommend more the services on offer at Cycling Position.

From servicing, bike fit, parts and as of now - a shiny new bespoke bike fit custom to me - a true support local hero of a bike shop.

Get yourself there for any bike needs and advice, you won't be dissapointed!

James and Bec were amazing! I got my new bike from them last week and James was so thorough in taking me through everything as I have not ridden a bike in many years.

I don't think you would receive better service anywhere else let alone in another bike shop.

It was great to get lots of information and not just be sold a bike and then that is it. James has offered me to return for further assistance.

My first experience of Cycling Position was when the chain on my e-Bike snapped on the way to work. The staff were incredibly helpful, fixing the chain for me on the spot and ordering in a new one to fit the next day. Since then I've had my bike serviced there and I've always been really impressed by the work. Highly recommended.

This review is coming over a year and a half too late, but here it is!

Had my bike fit with these guys in August 2022 and I left feeling like I'd just bought a new bike! New narrower handlebars, a new shorter stem, correct saddle height and cleat position put me in a much more comfortable position which translated to whole body comfort - less saddle soreness, less numbness in my feet and my knee pain disappeared.

The team were really friendly and incredibly generous. I cannot recommend enough. The biggest difference you can make to your enjoyment on the bike is to get a bike fit, I should've had it done years before instead of suffering and thinking it was normal. Not only was I more comfortable after this fit, I was also much faster!

The most helpful bike shop you’ll visit, if it’s a new bike you need, just some riding snacks or accessories, clothing or the best thing here, the bike fitting. You will not be dissatisfied. James and Becks at Cycling Position were recommended to me by a friend because I wanted a bike fit before I purchased a new bike. The fit worked wonders on my comfort and ability to cycle for the day. The friendly welcome and no pressure advice was excellent. They wouldn't sell you anything you didn't need or want. They listen and advice. So happy that I was introduced to them. I have purchased a bike and kit from them and they are my go to cycle shop. Would and will highly recommend them to anyone of my friends.

Great service from James and the guys. Rebuilt my rear hub super quick and for a very reasonable cost. Friendly advice and really helpful. Would fully recommend for anything!

I first got in touch with Cycling Position through a friend who had raved about them for quite a while, and now that I've visited a number of times I can understand why. What really blew me away was the fact that I'd just bought a second hand bike and they were happy to help - other shops I've visited after such a purchase tend to turn their nose up a bit.
Not at Cycling position though - they were more than happy to help!- I did need new pedals and cleats which they fitted, then even got me fitted on the bike - they charged me for the switch out components but not for the fit itself.
The fit has already revolutionised the way I ride - my core is more engaged, I'm more efficient with my stroke and my positon, although lower, feels so much more natural. James is the owner and fitter there and he absolutely knows what he's doing. His better half Becs is a wonderful front of house rep and also does a really nice wrap job! They have one or two mechanics that work on bikes as well including John, who also got my commuter sorted when it developed a problem on the way into work one day.
As someone who works in retail It's great to receive excellent service - almost better than giving it. The service is second to none, the advice is top notch. The gear they sell is great quality - as James says - 'If I wouldn't use it I won't sell it!' I cannot recommend them highly enough - I have found my new bike shop of choice.

James & Becks are super welcoming as everyone says, and James really knows his stuff. Bike fits have always been low on my list, but the ride afterwards was a revelation – loads more power, body English and long-distance comfort. If you want to go faster for further, pound for pound this is the best investment I’ve made for years. Highly recommended!

Really great people! They managed to book my bike in for a repair the same week I called, and charged me £30 less than what Halfords quoted me. I would only recommend going here!!

I turned up at closing time last week needing a front wheel, inner tube and tyre. I walked out the door with it all fitted 20 minutes later, and it was faultless for the following 250 miles of cycling.

The advice, the bike fit, fixing my bike when I crash and all other services, they are both incredible! Extremely knowledgeable, great value for service and actually feel valued as a customer. Cycling position is not only the best bike shop I have been to in Bristol, but possibly the best period. James and his team are generous with their knowledge (of which they have a lot), and are approachable, and friendly. The team are considerate about the service you require and don't just try to up sell you with unnecessary services - their focus is on getting you back on a safe, well fitted bike.

Absolutely amazing experience. James is extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional. Did everything he could to firstly get the most out of my bike fit, by only fitting and changing the necessary without upselling and recommending unnecessary component swaps. Secondly he did everything he could to make sure I had a fit asap and a follow up to fit the required parts. Absolute world of difference to my riding position and comfort while riding. So glad I went to him and most certainly will be back for anything bike related. Highly recommended, thanks again to James and his team.

James and Becks really great and so helpful and encouraging. James has set me up with bike fits on my gravel bike for longer distances and road bike for indoor turbo training. Feeling stronger than ever and niggles have gone. Super knowledgable. Recommend!!

Picked up my new bike from James & Becks yesterday. They managed to fit me in at short notice and spent so much time ensuring my new bike fitted me. James was great at ensuring I was happy with everything. The service from them both was brilliant, and they are also both really sound.

I would definitely recommend anyone requiring a fitting, new bike or very cool biking gear to pop in. They also serve great coffee!

Needed a proper bike fitting and found Cycling Position through Google.
James & Becks took the time to listen to me and what I wanted. They were very professional and had me properly fitted in no time. They explained the entire process and the reasoning behind it.
The results of before and after the fitment are like night and day. I now have more power and am more refreshed during and after long cycles. I am definitely more efficient on my bike.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will be back again.

Needed a new wheel and tyre, they fitted the cassette from my old wheel and the new tyre for free. Wheel and tyre reasonably priced too!

First time getting a bike fit and it was an excellent experience. James went above and beyond to ensure I ended up in the best position for me. I really appreciated that he was focused on making sure we addressed any issues I had rather than selling me things.
