A lovely little place. The owners were so nice. The room was clean and tidy, the food was tasty and the whisky was superb. Highly recommended (especially if you spend a little time at the bar for a good chat)

The cottage is lovely. Clean and fully equipped which was great for my small family. Everything was clean and modern but it had that old cottage feel too. Underfloor heating ensured we were warm. The kitchen is ideal for self catering and the two bathrooms are more than adequate. The bonus of parking just two or three steps away from the door was welcome. The hosts were incredibly welcoming. We soon discovered that the inn next door was also a great place for an evening out. Great beer and food. There is also a lovely large fireplace with log fire. We could not fault anything about the cottage or the inn. We look forward to staying again and we wholeheartedly recommend both places as a great place to stay.

A lovely little place, great hosts, great food and reasonably priced. The couple that run the place couldnt do enough for us, looked after us really well. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was really tasty. Would stop again if in the area.

Stayed at the cottage over Winter. A wonderful welcome from Sandra and Sean. The cottage was cosy and warm with great facilities. A small patio garden at the rear. The valley was picturesque. I loved that we were within driving distance of the market town of Newcastle Emlyn and the historical Carmarthen. There was also a handy bus every hour to Carmarthen or to Cardigan (460). A lovely country pub with fantastic food and an excellent selection of beers. We have recommended it to friends.

Fantastic place to stay. Yes it's off the beaten track , but the views are amazing , the hosts are so lovely and great company. Wonderful breakfast in the morning, only sad that I couldn't stay longer than one night. Hope to go back soon as a local

The food is quite unbelievable here. It's not cheap, and with the chef alone in a small kitchen they can't handle lots of covers, but it's honestly Michelin star quality. Bizarrely, the menu does not cover any vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc options, but ask! They have all these and more, and not just a 'veggie dish of the day', but rather secret menus of quite spectacular dishes - really, even if you eat meat, ask!

The bar selection is limited, but the sheer insanity of the single barman/owner makes up for this in pure entertainment value. With just the couple who run the place responsible for everything, don't expect fast food, but the hosts will keep you entertained while you wait, and once again the food is really worth waiting for.

Outdoor seating at the back, with a couple of sheltered tables. I can't comment in rooms or breakfast as we didn't stay here. Opens 6pm six days a week to non-residents. Closed on Sundays.

Had the pleasure to stay at the Afon Duad, this is a very welcoming bar, restaurant and B&B.
Your hosts Sean and Sandra make you feel very much at home, the food I had was excellent, fresh hot and plentiful.
Sean is a font of all knowledge in the drinks dept and if you go you must sample the Penderyhn Single malt lovely smooth Welsh whisky.
