Maids Head Wicken

The Maid’s Head is back with a bang! Some nice simple upgrades alongside the usual warm welcome are bringing it back to life. Good menu range (big portions), reasonable prices, nice draft ales and they poor a good Guinness. What’s not to like!

The arrival of a new landlord has seen the Maid's Head receive a subtle but welcome update.

All our food was delicious, fresh and great value for money.
The sausages were amazing and would highly recommend them. The fish and chips were also good …..I’m a big fan of chips and these did not disappoint!
Didn’t think we’d have room for the sticky toffee pudding but it went down a treat!…
We were made to feel welcome and even Hector (dog) who was given a bowl of water. Great dining experience
We’ll be back!

I have been coming to the maids head for about 7 years. In that time I've eaten in and had lots to drink. I can say that I've always had a pleasant experience and it's for that reason that I will come here many more times. There are two sections of the Pub one for eating and one for drinking. On sunny days the garden and the front of the pub are beautiful places to sit and relax and take in the busyness of Wiken ;) The carpark is small and can get full quickly. There's not a lot of parking on the side streets

Meal was perfection, Steak was Superb and staff were very engaging and so nice to talk to and great to meet them all and speak with. Lovely place. Recommended to everyone to visit 👍😊

What a beautiful place to eat and drink. The staff were fantastic. Food was well cooked and well presented. Covid safe environment. Seating outside or in. Inside tables were completely cleaned and disinfected after each customer.

Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Staff were all friendly and atmosphere was lovely.

A good quality roast dinner, good selection of drinks, a fairly priced Sunday menu, will happily come back! :)

We were a large group who walked in without a reservation on a Saturday night. The friendly staff quickly arranged a couple of tables together for us. I had the sea bass and a cheese platter. Beautifully made and delicious. I would definitely go back again if I were close by

Fab looking place. We visited on a "memory lane" trip to Wicken. Stopped for refreshments. Great building. Friendly staff. Seating area outside on the grass. Food looked good. Car park. Loos ok.

A very tasty Sunday Roast with a delicious dessert (Bakewell Tart with ice-cream).

We went for a family meal today, thankfully we booked as it was very busy! We thought the service would be poor given the number of people eating, however we were pleasantly surprised. The menu is quite limited, but to be honest, I think that makes the quality of the food better and even with 2 fussy members of the party, we all found a number of things that we liked, so all good. The service was quite quick, polite and we all got what we ordered. The food was absolutely lovely, well cooked and very tasty. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely come again!

The food was a little bit pricey, but worth every bit.
The staff although young were excellent.
A really nice country atmosphere, I have plans to return very soon.

Love the Maids Head. Great food and service.

The four of us came on a Wednesday and to say that it was quiet is an understatement. As far as we could see we were the only diners.
Many pubs would have said "Sorry, the kitchen is closed." but not the Maids Head. They served the fish & chips with a smile and a joke.
We ate the fish and chips with a smile. It tasted very good and it was hot.
It is difficult to tell if a pub is a good pub when it is very quiet and you're the only guests who eat but, after having experienced the food and the service, our opinion is that this pub will be very busy in a few months.

Delicious food here. First time eating here in 8 years. Just as we remembered it. Part of 13 all catered for and looked after very well.
