This place is an absolute treat, worth the dubious bumpy roads to get here! Looked for a place we could just walk in with a simple menu, this place ticks all the boxes. Had the biggest BLT Baguette I've ever seen for £6.95, incredible. Chicken and bacon salad is great as well. Service was fast and polite.

In the summer this place would be amazing.

We found this place based on the amazing ratings on Google map and we were not disappointed! It's right by the river so the view is beautiful and you can sit outside if the weather is good. The food was tasty, the portion size was huge and was really reasonably priced! The staff were so friendly and service was great too!

Lovely food and beautiful surroundings next to the river.
The cherry waffle crumble and custard is now one of my favourites.

Nice simple British pub food. Attentive service. Lovely views of the river from the huge conservatory. Some veggie & vegan meals but they could certainly do more. Would recommend.

Stopped in on a Thursday night so it was not very busy. We both had the cod fish n chips on the special menu. Probably one of the best we have had. Larger than avg bar area and very nice restaurant area. Def would recommend this spot and we will be back since we’re staying in Wicken.

Went for a meal with the wife to treat ourselves as we have heard good things from friends and colleagues. Food was absolutely lovely and portion size was good. Staff and service was absolutely brilliant, very accomodating and polite. Atmosphere was relaxing, clean and a nice layout so it wasn't a cramped feel. We will definitely be back there again. Looking forward to trying it during the spring/summer time as i hear it is very nice sitting outside by the river.

Not been here for a good five years. It was good then. Arrived the same time as a coach party, so rushed in to get served first. One person behind the bar, good move. As the coach party walked in, the staff appeared from no where, I was impressed. The place had been extended, it was not how I remembered it, but it was brilliant. Warming chunky wood furniture, looked great. So we had a meal and it was fantastic. Food and service impeccable. I do remember the food being good all those years ago, that for me, had not changed. So we moved out to the garden and watched the boats, wound up other people's dogs and fed the ducks. Dogs allowed on a lead here, many were not on leads, but we love dogs and it was not a problem for us, live a little eh. Bands play here and you can book your function here too. Out of ten, this place gets 20 out of 10 from the 4 of us who went. Laid back, lovely staff, who we had a good giggle with, we all loved it. So much so, we are going to their Blues night this week end. Go yourself, fair pricing, parking, wheelchair access, the place has it all, and it is in the middle of nowhere, bet they have a Helipad too, but I didn't see it. It was good 5 years ago, it is brilliant now.

One of the best pubs I have been to in a while. Massive selection of beverages, great food at a reasonable price. Great service.
It is beside the river with some nice walking trails.
Large conservatory area too full of natural light.

Found by pure accident and so glad we did.
Homemade lasagne which was homemade 😋 and a total dream 😋 😍 as for the chips 🍟 now these are by far the very best chips we have ever come across, absolutely perfect 👌 we also tried the chicken in cheese and leek sauce with potato gratin, another absolutely divine meal the taste was exquisite 👌
The only downside is we don't normally eat midday so couldn't manage dessert.
We are going back in the next couple of weeks to try again,
The service and staff were all positively friendly and helpful, food came out pretty quick and it was quite busy for a Friday afternoon in January and we are looking to plan a couple of group meals here as the location is stunning and overall one of the best places we have ever found 😋
Oh and they also do Sunday Roast.

Tried all the pubs and restaurants in this area and this one is certainly worth mentioning! It has very friendly (but not 'false-friendly') and observant waitresses. They were very busy but also very on the ball.
Food was spot on and quick. They even have different style atmospheres to suit individual preferences and plenty of room for lots of people. The outside space is scattered with more seating areas whilst having lovely open views of a small marina, and at night time the coloured lights shine through the huge Willow Tree in the centre, giving it a really nice and relaxing feel.
I'm sure people will travel more than 'Five Miles From Anywhere' to enjoy what this place has to offer!

Absolutely fabulous place to go to, moored the canal barge at the pub's own wharf and stayed overnight on the barge, had lunch and dinner there. Our meals were all great and reasonably priced. Every other meal we saw brought out looked just as good, must be the biggest fish and chips I have ever seen and plenty big enough to feed the both of us.

Amazing food, fantastic staff and a pleasant atmosphere all together! Love a restaurant that has nothing but happy staff walking around smiling and checking in on tables. Never been disappointed with a meal there! An added bonus is just having music playing in the background, really sets a great vibe around the place!

Fantastic place for a good meal. The staff were attentive and the food came in a timely manner. The scenery was also great with a view of the boats passing by on the nearby river. This place will be high on my list when deciding on somewhere to eat lunch.

We got there as it opened as thought it maybe very busy as it was a great weather and a Sunday. We sat outside on one of the picnic tables by the river. The tables soon filled up. The food was lovely. The staff were great. It's a lovely setting and we were there for a few hours. Although we didn't take our didn't take our dogs other customers and the staff made the dogs welcome. We will definitely be back soon.

We come here every Christmas eve as we have a large family (14 in total)
There's always room for us in the secluded bar at the back, brilliant for big parties, food was awesome, couldn't fault anything.

Good choice of food, our group all had different dishes, all which were served at same time so no cold dishes for those who got food first. Excellent choce of deserts to finish off our meal. Veranda has a lovely view of the river with canal boats passing by. With thorougly recommend.
